No way should Gallagher or Lee start ahead of Lambert, even if he is off form. Lee If Lambert were to be taken out then JR up front with Gaston or JWP coming in is the better option.

The role of a full back has massively changed over the last 10 years. Clyne is an excellent player and IMO is one of the top 4 or 5 right backs in the league certainly.

My judgement is that Hooiveld is **** and miles out of his depth. Was a journeyman player in the poor Swedish and Dutch leagues and is very, very lucky to have played PL football.

The quality of his Saints teammates back then has really showed in his two loan spells. We had some PL players playing in the Championship and playing with the quality of Lambert & Lallana in the Championship must be great for a striker.

The loss to Villa was annoying, but we battered them for the whole game. 9 times out of 10 we would have won that game. They happen. Would be more of a concern if Villa had played us off the park, and to be honest this season, only Chelsea 2nd half have really done that to us. Would hardly say we are in freefall, we had a tough run of games with Arsenal and Chelsea away then lost vs Villa, but havent played badly during the run.

Chiriches has looked ok so far I think and Dawson, although not quick is a good defender. In addition, Walker and Rose, whilst dubious footballers are both quick to cover across. I think we can get some joy, but so will they through Gazza and if he plays, Jos Hooiveld.

We are having them now, and have managed draws at home to City and away at Newcastle, which are decent results. I know fans like signings, and I would like another CB and maybe an attacking option from the bench, but not signing anyone won't make us suddenly drop like a stone.
