  1. JWP will never "come good"
  2. Should we sell Long and reinvest in the summer?
  3. Apart from a massively inferior goals and assists record. The record of a midfielder not a forward which is what Mane is used as.
  4. Mane and Chamberlain are different types of player IMO. Mane is a forward who will score 10+ goals a season. Chamberlain plays deeper, could probably play the 'Davis role' very well but isnt anywhere near the threat of Mane in the final third. I don't see that as a like for like change. We will need to replace Mane's goals and assists if he leaves. Chamberlain would obviously be a great midfield buy.
  5. That is just not true. Besides, Clyne was a young player with no top level experience who came into a newly promoted team with a couple of ****e defenders. Cedric and Martina were both older and far more experienced when we signed them, so its not really a like for like comparison. Clyne is a far better RB than either ans was from very early on in his Saints career, certainly by the time Pochettino joined and he got better from there too.
  6. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/10266525/mauricio-pochettino-leads-the-way-with-new-spurs-deal Interesting perspective. Wonder if our situation would have any impact on our own plans, especially if RK does decide not to sign a new deal.
  7. Kelechi Iheanacho very impressive for City. Will score bucketloads the next few season I think. Best goals to mins ratio of any player to score more than 2 this season.
  8. Mirror say we want Hal Robson Kanu on a free from Reading. Aged 30 I think we can do better. Much better. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/watford-southampton-scrapping-out-wales-7877424#ICID=sharebar_twitter
  9. If Wanyama won't sign a new contract then we will probably actively want to sell him.
  10. Won Wycombe Supporters Player of the Year. Great effort. Imagine we will be looking to get him a loan in a higher league next season.
  11. You recall this but I recall we instantly liked him and realised he was playing in a defence with Hooiveld, Fox and Davis. He scored in his first home game I believe and was a key player all season and was linked to Chelsea by about January 2013. "Totally out of his depth" he certainly never was.
  12. How did you see Clasie's performance? I thought Wanyama (who was excellent) covered for him numerous times and probably wins double the amount of duels in a game. His yellow (and subsequent sub) summed up his weakness for me - too easily beaten where Wanyama and Romeu wouldn't be and having to pull Fernandino down. Obviously an excellent team performance but think the game often passes by without him making many contributions. Is that unfair?
  13. Davis' skill on the touchline to mug off Nasri was quality - he had a great game. JWP ****ting himself when he realised he was 1v1 with Mangala but would have to go it alone was quite funny also.
  14. He has done ok and is nowhere near as bad as was made out when we signed. Likewise neither he nor Cedric are anywhere near as good as Clyne was, so given the ample notice that Clyne could/would leave last summer I don't think the replacements have been any better than average. That Martina appears more suited to the PL than Cedric is a concern.
  15. Lambert should come out on top as he is a current player who trains every day. As an aside, what is the point of announcing things that the people you are announcing it to cannot hear what is being announced?
  16. Worth remembering its an online football forum I think.
  17. Interesting Koeman saying he wasn't happy with Pelle's focus in training hence not being in the matchday squad.
  18. Disagree. He is a striker not a wide player. As proven by his upturn in form since being our main striker.
  19. Agree
  20. More than that. He can finish and beats players with ease. Better than Sterling and he cost £49m. Has to be in the £35m - £40m bracket given age, record and potential.
  21. Absolutely class team performance, quite possibly the best since Koeman joined. Long and Mane supplied by the excellent Tadic was great to watch. Fonte and VVD also dominant. Anyone who doesn't think he would miss Wanyama is mad - he was superb today and wins so many duels to prevent attacks. Only negative for me was Clasie - turned so easily for his yellow then again in the build up to their first goal. He doesn't have the athleticism required to boss a midfield in the PL IMO.
  22. When the post was written Long was Pelle's understudy. Once Koeman changed how he used Long that was the turning point and he has been great since then. No point having Long and playing him out wide or for 10mins at the end when Pelle got tired.
  23. Really superb today!
  24. Not seen anything to suggest that personally. Certainly not on the same level as Mane, Tadic or a fit Jay Rod.
  25. 3-1. Happy to be wrong!
