  1. 2-1. Liverpool will get at least a draw. Been all over Swansea this half.
  2. Of course not, but we have Spurs away to play still too not to mention City today. To get 7th we will need to win all our last 3 games IMO. Liverpool could still get something from this game if subs have an impact.
  3. They have an additional game to play though so realistically we need to win today even if they do end up losing.
  4. Cork having a great game so far, even aside from the goal. Not sure of any area Clasie is better than Cork in to be honest. He isn't a world class player of course, but is so solid and reliable and has the stamina to be effective for 90mins.
  5. Amazing goal from Cork!!!
  6. Then an Amat free header from 4 yards somehow over.
  7. Cork shot saved, could have made it 2-0.
  8. Loads of changes for Liverpool at Swansea today. If we are going to make Europe (unlikely IMO) then this is the day Liverpool need to lose and we win.
  9. Redmond is so average which is why half the time he doesn't even start for Norwich and when he does his end product is modelled on Aaron Lennon. Not good enough for us.
  10. The concept of tapping up is nothing to do with discussing contracts specifically.
  11. You must mean you want Boro to go up then? (Assuming he signs for them if they do).
  12. West Ham will finish above us. They have 5 more points and a better GD with three games each to play. Plus we have Man City and Spurs to play. Liverpool are the only realistic team to catch but they i.) Are above us ii.) Have an extra game iii.) Have easier games iv.) Are a better team
  13. Arsenal seem to be very open to him leaving so I'm not sure they will be bothered in the slightest.
  14. WBA have Leko, aged 17, starting up front. Solid side at home West Brom but think WHU will have too much quality for them unfortunately.
  15. No. He has done a good job and generally its been a satisfactory season given most of the summer signings have not had the impact that was hoped for (VVD aside).
  16. Sounds a bit past tense like he spoke to him re a January loan move and Chamberlain wasn't bothered. Did it come across that way?
  17. Because he clearly didn't have what it takes as judged everyday by the coaching staff.
  18. Living in Brighton most of their fans have only been going to games for 3 years since the new stadium opened and are pretty clueless. Many support other teams in the PL. Would be great for the south coast to have 3 PL sides but by about October they will get pretty tedious. Chris Hughton and Paul Barber (CEO) came into my work on Wednesday for a Q&A session. Was interesting to note that Tony Bloom the owner his currently having to put about £1.5m a month into the club to keep it running. Just shows how costly it can be to get out of the Championship and Brighton have good attendances to balance it and haven't spent the fortunes some others have. They also mentioned their Academy currently tends to take the players "Chelsea and Southampton don't want" which I liked. That said, they have invested a lot into their Academy and the owner is very wealthy so if they established themselves they could be decent competition. Nice place to live and close to London/Gatwick so attractive for players.
  19. He has been poor the rest of the game but good movement to get into the position to score. Boro not all that though. Limited going forward.
  20. I am a Saints fan. Koeman isn't. Nor is Koeman's agent.
  21. It suits Koeman to keep his options open. Any semi good agent would suggest he stalls as long as Saints allow him to.
  22. He will be here next season. They key is that the speculation will just intensify next season if he doesn't sign a new deal and it creates uncertainty and hype which isn't helpful. As soon as we lose a few games fans will say he has his eye on his next club etc. Players who signed "for Koeman" will be under more scrutiny for fans etc. It won't be easy if thats how it plays out.
  23. From the other thread: Koeman quite evasive in his presser today about a new contract. He said: - He will be the Manager next season as has one year of contract - Not talking about links to other clubs - Still ambitious as a Manager - Hasnt had any contract talks with the Club and he will wait for them to approach him if they want to - He had meetings about the 5 year plan which he was interested in. The club wants to grow more which was good to see in RK's opinion - No rush on contract in his opinion as has one year left and when he was at Feyenoord he signed 3 x 1 year contracts and only started discussing the next one in the January so plenty of time My opinion: Saints in a difficult position because if he does just decide to see out the contract we either have to put up with a lot of media speculation and distraction next season, or let him go this summer on the basis we want someone who is committed to the long term. Surely no chance we will fire him, so Ralph had better let Reed handle the talks and hope they go well!
  24. So Ronald, this week Gabby Agbonlahor gave up the Villa captaincy. Do you like vanilla ice cream or prefer strawberry?
