Agree with this 100%. JWP clearly a very good player and will have a very good career.

Joke club. We just don't belong at this level.
-
How would the guy know the person was a member of the FA if he just saw them?
-
FFS we waste money on ticket office refurbs instead of sorting out our leaky defence that has hamstrung us for 3 years.
-
Indeed. Plus, he rejected a Russian or Ukrainian team last year I think so might not be overly keen on going there. If we did sign him would it be the longest successful transfer saga in SW history? Or was Skacel longer?

Ha - I understand that, I agree with Alpine's point anyway on that one. But thats not what the OP says.
-
Do you actually loathe being in the PL?
-
Just highlighting the continuous drivel that Alpine spouts. He is happy to have strong opinions so has to accept he will get some flak for them, and its not abuse at all. Not sure why you think you can ask Mods to delete stuff all of a sudden?!

Still think this Alps?
-
No point even creating that other thread when this beauty was started just 6 months ago. Think of the Server capacity Alps.

SFC still run like a crappy seaside B & B

With over two months before the first game of the season and less than one month since the end of the current campaign. FFS. -
Is Baines really worth the money Everton would (rightly) want for him?
-
He might know, but he might not say. My Dad knows him and asked him about Lallana's injury and he wouldn't say even though he clearly knew. He was initially helping Gaston settle and translating for him but is now Technical Coach, helping out with drills, cones etc. He would probably know if/when we were signing someone but I would imagine theres only a handful at the club who actually know when bids are made and accepted and contract talks take place. Fran wouldn't be involved in deciding who to buy etc so wouldn't know the identity but Im sure he speaks to the other more connected coaches and would know bits and pieces.
-
Exactly. He would have a certain idea, but probably not know names. Its as reliable as anything so far this summer...
-
Cheers Monk - don't doubt the source/accuracy, lets wait and see...

Twitter is flooded with these stupid transfer ITK accounts now. You can get good info but have to find the reliable sources which is harder to do now.
-
No chance...Scowcroft is still in Alan Bennett's pocket from the last time.

United away

Aren't we getting that awful Hearts template though?

This. If anyone wants Shaw they have to deal with Saints and we have to agree (relunctantly) to let him go, he cannot just decide he wants to go somewhere and get up and go. By all accounts he will sign another "long term" contract here which gives us more leverage and security to get a big fee for him when he inevitably does go - but he won't this summer.
-
Thats not true, Shaw already has a professional contract. Chamberlain joined Arsenal aged 17, if he hadn't been on a pro contract then the issue could have been resolved at tribunal. It wasnt. Arsenal had to agree a fee with us because the player had a pro deal, as does Shaw now. I think the rule is it can only be a maximum of 3 years which is why they try to get players on long term one once they become 18, but certainly they have contracts. For example, Ryan Seagar who recently signed one - another team can't just pinch him and go to a tribunal without our agreement: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/academy-duo-pen-professional-deals-793376.aspx

He does have a pro contract that was signed previously. He will most likely sign another one in a month too.
