To be fair, you DO sound like a complete pillock. Lots of cool phraseology, plenty of cool swearwords, lots of self back patting. Yup, w4nker is very fair.

So why is the price now 16 million when supposedly 20 million was offered previously? Or are all of these numbers fantasy?

Apparently he's stacked a number of plates on top of his cooker. Either that or "stacked" is a trendy new word for "crashed"

Initial TV game picks (Liverpool/Villa away, Man City home)
toe_punt replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
Zero, because all 38 games are on live TV here for free. Not pay per view, just NBC. USA! USA! USA! -
As long as Tadic can do the Cruyff turn he'll be a good replacement for our ex one trick pony.

Callum Chambers to play right midfeild this season?
toe_punt replied to peacey's topic in The Saints
You're equating Chambers with one of the quickest players in football? Chambers is slow. He has a lot of good qualities, but speed is not one of them. He'd be a poor winger. -
How many games did you ACTUALLY see? I saw 37 of the 38 league games last season and he made a darn sight more than "two mistakes". Maybe you didn't see them in the Daily Echo report the next day?

Lallana completes move to LFC for a fee of around £25m
toe_punt replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Lallana will be found out fairly quickly. He really has had only one good year with us. It wasn't long ago that most posters complained bitterly about his performances. He'll be a bench warmer half way through the season, getting the odd 15 minutes here and there, and this site will be counting its blessings and that 15 million or so pounds netted. -
So, instead of a pointless one line blab why don't you put us straight?
-
And you base this on what? How many times have you seen him play?

And I thought that Albert Einstein was long gone..............

It seems like forever (and that's a proper use of the word "like") since we had a manager. The fact that he hasn't shortened his holiday to try to shore up the club is, I hope, a sign that he is unfazed by these players leaving and is confident that all will be well by the beginning of the season. I hope it's not a sign that he is oblivious to it all.........

I was bored so was looking around and came across this (below) on a Spurs fans forum. Apparently, Lovren is willing to go on strike in order to force a move away from Saints. Nice, what is this, six weeks after saying he was happy to stay at Saints? Lovren This is again second hand, as although my mate speaks regularly to his agent he hasn't seen him for at least a week or so. Firstly I need to clarify the comment I made in the Lovren thread regarding him willing to strike. When Lovren joined Southampton he had better options available to him but he decided on Southampton because he bought into the long term plan that Pochetinno and Cortese pitched to him. He was made assurances that the team would be built on and not dismantled as they had a great young squad that in a couple of years could really go places. Well one year in and things are very very different. He understands though that it is not Poch's fault and that Poch has moved on to try and fulfill the same dream he had at Southampton which is to build his own footballing dynasty in his own image. Hard work, a system that is both solid defensively but has fluidity from an attacking pov. Most importantly there has to be strong team ethic where they want to win, not for the fans or the coach, but for each other. When I was told he would go on strike to get his move this was part of a very short conversation I had, where I am not sure I got the whole context. After a more lengthy chat it appears that yes he will strike but that will be a last resort. He feels that he has done things the right way by putting in a transfer request, and that coupled with a decent transfer fee should be enough. He wasn't lied to when he went there but things have changed significantly since he agreed to the move and where he originally thought it might take a couple of years to progress and start to chalenge the top sides he now believes they never will while the current regime is in place.

I'm trying to understand the differing attitudes of people here towards Poch and Lambert. Lambert leaves with two years left on his contract, at a time when we needed stability, for a relatively paltry sum of money to join his - as Saggy chops would call it - "spiritual home". Never was there a time that he didn't big Saints up, but as soon as Liverpool come knocking he's off like a rat up a drain pipe. Pochettino said from the moment Cortese left, that he would see out the year then decide on his future. He left with one year left on his contract which is still not the most ethical thing to do, but at least thanks to Cortese's foresight in writing the contract Poch had to pay us back a couple of million. Seems to me that Lambert made the more damaging and surprising exit, yet people here fall over themselves to praise him. Both did a lot for SFC, but in my mind Lambert was the bigger traitor.

The only difference between Welbeck and Guly is that Welbeck can at least tap in a ball on the 6 yard line when there are no opposing players in the way. Oh, and he earns ten times as much dosh as Guly of course.
-
I would think a small pot plant would be a replacement for Guly.
-
Fascinating........No, really, it is.
-
I don't see my son's U16 side do what Fonte and Guly did today. Passing a ball casually across your own goalmouth is the most basic defensive no-no there is. I can forgive Fonte because he's put in some pretty good shifts this year, but Guly repeating the error one minute later? Hopefully that's the last time we ever see Guly in a Saints shirt.
-
Yawn......the Guly apologists line up to be counted. He is one of the worst players in the P.L. Starting him vs Sunderland was like playing with ten men. He can't complete a pass of more than 5 yards to someone in a Saints shirt. He can't head the ball He won't tackle. He can't shoot. He can't score. He jogs around like it's a Sunday stroll. I'm sure he's a nice lad, but the fact is he's being paid to be a footballer, and sadly, that task is well beyond him.
-
So says the parochial "Village Idiot" from Kings Heath.
-
even prior to his injury he was a woeful passer of the ball. Unfortunately eight weeks off did nothing to improve his passing which was awful today. He's a strong physical presence in the middle of the field, sure, but he is the worst passer ont he team by far and that's a problem in MP's system. Jack Cork was excellent when he came on. He should start in future.
-
Thread: Would you change positons with Sunderland? Dunno. What charge does a positon have? Negative like an electron, or positive?
-
I hardly think Poyet instructed his team to cripple ours, do you? Seriously? Lovren's injury was one of those things. Gaston was unlucky enough to be on the same park as one of the worst butchers in Brown ever to "grace" a Premier league park. I hate Brown, and I don't like Poyet from his Brighton days, but do be serious.
-
Christ on a bike! You must only listen to the games on the radio. No one turns the ball over more than Wanyama. Sure, he is a real physical presence in the middle of the park, BUT he can't pass to save his life.
-
Can't agree on the "pace" Glasgow, he seems slow to me. He has plenty to offer, but speed ain't part of it.
