Exactly. Had Cork played in Davis's role so had vi moved the ball around better and made Villa work harder. As it was we played too many long diagonal balls to very little effect that the Villa defence had little problems dealing with. They just kept their defensive shape far too easily. In games like these , you have to move the ball around and make runs all the time. Thats why an extra forward gave us less attacking options against such a villa's bus.

I know. Its embarressing. An international CM player that doesn't really want the ball. He just points to someone else. Doesn't have a clue when he does get it. The other options (according to Woy) are not much better....Carrick, Milner, Barry. I would honestly prefer Cork before all of these. But its anoying they have only released the jan schedule. I'm about to book flights for the LPool game in feb. Quite good prices at the moment but will it be a sunday match? Imagine if they move it to the monday, then i'll have flown home by KO time. Wait and the prices will definately go up. please stop talking about CL everyone. I remember some similar talk when WGS took us up in the top 4. Just enjoy everything as it is for the moment. We've got a seriously intensive dec & jan coming up. Throw in some injuries and then see if were still CL contenders.

the lad did ok but looked very uncertain every time he got the ball. Certainly lacking in self belief. No conviction in his play. not at all the player that has just cost your team £30m.

Not only was our midfield the key , but our success was built on a fantastic squad attitude. The feel good feeling where everyone was helping eachother. This in turn made many playsers seem much better than they might actually be. Lambert and Lovren. Jay Rod is another. IMO

Saw Bruce and his Jam band in Doncaster the night before our match up there a few years ago. Sound was pretty good but performing in a sterile hall in front of maybe 100 middle-agers (like myself) put a bit of a damper on the whole experience. Not at all like the memories of old. Some things are probably just best as they were. Hate seeing the Stones on one more tour.
