    Will Still

Apart from the fact that he has a squad with no spine - so a very limited choice of goalkeeper, centre back and centre forward. That's a pretty integral part of any side harbouring ambitions to be among the front runners in their league.
  2. We don't have a single wing back worthy of the name at the club. None of them are able to get up and down the pitch at pace so let's stop asking them to do what they can't. Wing back is a specialist role and you have to be super fit and talented to play the role properly. A back four and a couple of traditional wingers for me - don't ask Fellows to play wing back because it wastes his natural talent further up the pitch and tires him out.
  3. But isn't that a big part of what training sessions are for? I get that we've just had another international break but surely by now he should have seen enough to work out which partnerships work, what formation keeps us tight at the back whilst freeing up the attacking intent and chance creation. It's up to the manager and his coaches to work out a starting eleven and formation that gets the most out of the squad. We are seeing small improvements but it's time for something to click in a bigger way.
  4. Their route to first team is blocked generally because those clever people at SR like to bring in slightly older players who might turn into the next big thing and make a shedload of money. Unfortunately their talent for picking such players is limited.
  5. I guess they felt they had to make absolutely certain he was the right man for the job. No sense taking any chances with such a key appointment.
  6. If you play wing backs they have to be fit as fuck and fast so that they can get up and down the wing like a couple of Duracell bunnies - we simply do not have the players capable of that unless I'm missing something so need to play a flat back four.
  7. Play Scienza on the right and get him cutting in and shooting with his stronger left foot or hitting the byline and cutting back low crosses - do the same with Tom Fellows on the left. These two would then start scoring goals and causing more chaos from which AA would benefit through the centre. It is pointless hitting high crosses if we don't have a big centre forward so we have to try something different. Play Scienza and Fellows either side of Azaz who can pull the strings with his passing and can also score in a 4231 set up; Macca Mads Wood Quarshie Jelert Charles Jander Scienza Azaz Fellows Arma
  8. Strange because most fans seemed to think he played very well against Liverpool - higher level opposition than Championship so you'd like to think he'd easily cope in our games.
  9. Can you name those he has directly hired.
  10. He's never been mentioned as one of those injured at any press conferences as far as I recall.
  11. I was merely pointing out that you can't really blame the mess on Solak. We realise the money has, in the main, been spent badly and that is down to SR and those appointing the recruitment team and bad choices by said recruitment team.
  12. Bit tough berating Solak when all he seems to do is put his hand in his pocket with very little return.
  13. I think when we signed Jelert it was said he can play on either side of the pitch.
  14. Sounds to me like she is more astute at spotting talent than Spors. Judging by Downs it's a low bar.
  15. He's a big lad - the least he needs to show is some aggression towards opponents. Do that and the rest might eventually follow although it could be a long journey from what we've seen so far. Will Still has said he needs to pick a few fights and he's dead right because Downs is far too passive for his own good. Get stuck in lad!
  16. Have you not been keeping up - even a lot of the good sides are now introducing big, powerful centre forwards. It's in vogue along with the long throw and more long balls rather than tippy tappy at the back.
  17. Morris would have soon won the fans over by banging in goals, he's not perfect but decent for this league - not so sure about the guy you describe as showing what he can do when we play to his strengths as that strike was clearly the exception rather than the rule.
  18. Well if Rangers were smart they'd have given him a contract that stipulated he only gets paid out if he fails after a certain number of games or points given his history. Mind you, they clearly aren't smart or they wouldn't have hired him in the first place. Their hierarchy have some tough questions coming but I don't think they have any answers other than holding their hands up to the charge of rank incompetence. Most of their fans predicted a car crash from the start and they will want more heads then Russboy to roll.
  19. Oh he will.
  20. Get tae fuck!
  21. Carlton Morris should have been a no brainer for us and would have been perfect - bustling, strong centre forward who scores his fair share of goals. But no, let's bring in the freshman USA striker who one day may make us a few quid but, in the interim years, is frigging useless.
  22. I thought you'd struggle but full marks for trying. You admit and everyone knows AA up front through the middle doesn't work. Whichever way you cut it SR and Spors fucked up by signing Downs instead of an experienced centre forward with a bit of strength and nous. Still is snookered I'm afraid.
  23. Anyone heard any news on the severity of Stewart's injury?
  24. Yes, it's baffling that he's never even used as a sub to at least give him a chance to show what he can do.
  25. Sounds very good in theory but what formation are you suggesting they play in and who plays up front? I think this is Will Still's problem - who plays where and in what formation. If he can get that right we will start to see more wins although the injury to Stewart has come at the worst possible time unless it was a minor twinge and he came off as a precaution.
