I'd sell him this window if we can identify a big strong centre forward. Stewart showed we are a different side with a decent guy leading the line, holding the ball up and winning headers. We can't rely on him alone though so another of his type to share the load would make us stronger in my book.

Agree he's not strong on crosses. He's a unit so he should be battering people out of the way to get to the ball.
-
Thigh injury and looks like he could be out for a while. They'll probably send him back 🙂

We were fine until Stewart went off. He was the big difference between the two sides. Once he left the field Sheff Utd could afford to push forward more knowing we had nobody holding the ball up so struggled to get out of our own half. I'd be selling AA this window and bringing in a big centre forward to alternate with Stewart because we were a different side with someone competent playing the centre forward role.

Whereas we scored and had two gilt edged chances.
-
Didn't see them create chance after chance. Were we watching different games?
-
We made it much harder than it should have been because Azaz and Scienza missed easy chances that simply must be converted. After Stewart went off we had zero presence up front and allowed them to control the game. There were a few scares and Bamford really should score after the terrible mix up between Jelert and THB - schoolboy stuff. Fortunately Bamford was not as clinical as normal and his shot gave Peretz the chance to stick out a leg and divert it. The 3 points here is the most important thing but we must take our good chances when they come along because that could easily have finished 1-1 even though we were worthy winners.

Wilder is going to act swiftly with subs and he's got some good options. We need to have a good second half.

Stewart has been very good. Won his share of headers and very neat and tidy on the ground. Considering how little football he's had he's done great in that half. It's good to finally have a focal point. Fingers crossed he can stay fit cos he's going to be a key player for us.

Do bears shit in the woods?

Nobody seems to know for sure. All part of the smoke and mirrors if you ask me.
-
Do they sell it using us as an example of how successful it is? Not sure that'd help grow the business. 'Here, look at this. You should try it. We use it all the time.' 'Nah, you're alright mate.'
-
Unlikely and would be extremely hard to prove anything.
-
Is this your opinion or do you have actual evidence to support it and, if so, what? Just seeking clarification.
-
The only two on target efforts were in the middle of the goal so I'm assuming routine saves even for Baz.

People are interpreting this to match their own agendas. At no point does he say anything about Saints being a basket case (I know we are) nor does he allude to a divided dressing room (which I think there is). He's throwing neither the club nor the dressing room under the bus and all he says is he wanted a fresh start with a side fighting for a play-off spot. Nothing to see here.

Surely even SR wouldn't be bonkers enough to sell AA and not bring in a replacement. Sure, given their track record the replacement might be crap but they will sign someone if AA goes.

I wonder how long it took the genius to think of that one. I swear he lives in his own little world where everything is the direct opposite of what it should be. Trust us to get shackled to this nutty professor.

Yeah and I'll just throw in the weather - our poor wee lambs hate playing when it's wet and windy. They'll all be hoping to be one of those left out tonight.
-
If true it's even worse than I thought 😞
-
Who'd have thought it? Anyway, there's nothing hipster about taking the sensible option - it doesn't make you look smart.
-
He scored two against us so any Saints fan who hasn't seen him must be living on the moon.
-
Agree. I don't see how they can let him prepare the team for the Pompey game if we lose tomorrow.
-
Looks like it'll be two from Saints, Charlton, WBA, Blackburn, Pompey and Oxford.
