1) Talk is cheap - actions speak louder than words. 2) And they'll be planning for it for a long time to come. 3) It's just discussions - doesn't mean it'll happen and my firm belief is it won't. 4) Let's see how many season tickets we shift next season - do you seriously think we'll sell out? 5) This might be a fact but I and I would hazard a guess most other fans would prefer to hear more talk of what is being done to improve the return of 5 points so far this season rather than some PR exercise concerning stadium expansion.
-
So what, if anything, do you know about a possible stadium expansion? - I'm intrigued.
-
I take that as meaning you don't have any definitive information to share but, because you've heard rumours of some talks or other that the club had with the council that you know nothing about you have decided that we may be extending the ground - tenuous to say the least and I reiterate that, imo, it won't be happening.
-
Well, to enable me to respond maybe you could inform me what you know that I obviously don't - you are clearly privy to details within the club that I am not so if you share these with me I will respond.
-
Ok, let's agree to disagree on this one. You'll not convince me and vice versa.
-
Why wasn't there a case a few years ago when we had good seasons under Pochettino, Koeman and Ralph and were regularly selling out.
-
As I said...let me know when the work starts. It's not going to happen until we are having a lot more success on the field - sometime never under the current manager and owners is my best guess.
-
They spend the bare minimum on maintaining the existing stadium so if you believe they're going to spend a fortune on increasing capacity when we're on a downward spiral you knock yourself out. Let me know when the workmen arrive to carry out the changes - I'll not hold my breath.
-
Not happening.
-
It will cost far too much money to extend the stadium - if not why didn't we do it when we were reasonably successful in the Premier League? Who do you think is going to be willing to pay for it. I have zero confidence in the current bunch of clowns running the club getting us promoted again - more likely we are on a downward spiral with them. If you feel differently you are entitled to your opinion but they give me no sense that they know how to run a football club hence my doubts that they'll preide over another promotion anytime soon.
-
We are clearly not going to increase capacity when we'll be back in the Championship next season with the prospect of a probable long wait until we get back to the Premier League under the current owners. The current capacity suits this shit show just fine.

If so he's even more deluded than I thought.
-
In other words it's groundhog day again. Yet another presser full of bullshit from those asking the questions and Martin's responses.
-
A good article which heaps more scorn on the deluded Russell Martin. If his play out from the back method was even close to working we should be creating lots of attacking moves and goals. The fact that we are not demonstrates how deluded this man is yet every week we hear him make the same claims - the players are so brave, I'm proud of them and we are getting close. It's utter bullshit.

I recall there was talk at the time of other offers having been made. Yes, Semmens sold the club which any of us could have done. We now know he made a complete cock up of choosing who to sell it to and that is on him.
-
Football is a business. It would not be a good business decision to just allow this downward spiral to continue as more and more damage will be done. Now is the time for action to be taken by the owners who should be looking at bringing in a new manager and coaching staff to at least get us on a more stable footing and stop the bleeding so that hopefully we end the season heading in a more positive direction. In addition Martin has lost the fans which also means it's time to part company with him.
-
It's what coaches do at kids football matches. Maybe that tells us a lot about Russell's mind set.
-
If I was in Russell Martin's shoes I'd be praying for the owners to sack me asap. The longer he stays in a role that he is unqualified for the more damage he does to his reputation. If he stays for the whole season and results continue in the same vein he will have presided over a car crash of a season and have that writ large on his CV. Much better for him if he's sacked now and goes with a huge pay-off and more chance of rebuilding his reputation at another Championship club. Currently he is only wrecking his legacy at Southampton FC and his reputation within the game.
-
Then bringing up Russell Martin's name emphasised their point.
-
Yeah but not as a Premier League manager.
-
They saw him coming and Semmens bought their complete stock of snake oil. I wonder what he got out of the deal.
-
Yeah, you have to ak why Semmens decided that these shysters were the best available bidders for the club. Smells a bit.
-
Not you though I guess?

You wonder how Dragan, the guy providing all the money, allows the clowns to get away with it.
