Can't believe he seemingly made no attempt to lift the ball over the keeper. He just seemed content to make sure he got the shot on target but he's got to be smarter than that in these one on one situations. The keeper is always going to spread himself so it's either a dink over him or try to get round him and slot into the empty net - a low shot just doesn't get the job done most times.

Tend to agree. There are plenty of strikers out there who could do a better job than Mubama - even someone at the end of his career who's shown he can lead the line and bang in a few goals. Mubama offers us next to nothing.

There's been talk about the James Bree incident in the 2nd half when he went down clutching his head and ref stopped the game. Did he get a bang on the head? Anyone have a clip of the incident.

They've got to hope Lankshear doesn't pick up a bad injury. If that happens they're back to the side they were last season.

Just watched the extended highlights back. For all their domination of that first half all West Brom really had to show for it was the penalty and a shot from distance that Peretz comfortably tipped over the bar. It felt worse than that while watching it live I guess because we offered so little ourselves but they weren't peppering our goal and Peretz wasn't pulling off a string of worldie saves.

You'd think transferring players in and out was impossible.

Nah, I enjoy reading the desperate stuff they post trying to denigrate us - it's pathetic. All we did to them was give them the chance to appear in a play-off final even though they didn't win one of the two semi-final matches - they still haven't thanked us for that to this day. Even when gifted a spot in the final against Hull they still managed to completely bottle it 🙂

There's some sanctimonious twats on the Boro fans forum 🙂 They're accusing us of every type of on field cheating going and even saying refs should give opponents more protection or our dirty players are going to hurt someone. It's hilarious - as though their sweet, innocent little lambs don't ever get involved in the dark arts of football. Pathetic.

I was half expecting Tonda to replace him with Bragg when he got booked. He'd been raging all match due to his clear frustration at our very poor first half performance and looked to be a red card waiting to happen.

Wonder if Chelsea would consider loaning us Emmanuel Emegha. He's from the Netherlands and is a 23 year old 6'5" striker who joined them this season but is getting no game time. They paid 25m Euros for him so might be up for loaning him out to give him some games.

That first half was as bad as it gets. What concerns me is that we can play so badly for 45 minutes when we have aspirations of automatic promotion. I'll put it down to a one-off bad day at the office hopefully never to be repeated. West Brom came flying out of the blocks but we should have been ready for that. They pinned us back and collectively we retreated 10 maybe 15 yards and offered no serious press in numbers as identified by Tonda. Not sure why he didn't get a message on to the players but accept it's probably not easy to change things in the heat of the battle. It meant West Brom had it all their own way for the opening 45 minutes. Up front we had Mubama and Edozie which almost equated to us playing with 9 men such was the weak performances they put in especially in that first half. Thankfully we reached half time only a goal down and Tonda was able to adjust things and get us playing 10-15 yards further forward whilst pressing in greater numbers. It immediately turned the game like a switch had been flicked and we exerted a period of pressure leading to Edozie equalising. After that the game ebbed and flowed becoming a good watch with both sides having decent chances to win it. A draw was probably just about the right result overall and, in the cold light of day, looks a valuable one given the horrible first half performance from us.

Poor attempt when one on one tonight - surely he only had to lift the shot for a certain goal. I get that it's in the heat of the moment but he needed some composure. Good strikers rarely miss those opportunities. Having said that he did some decent stuff and was a big improvement on Mubama but so would Long John Silver have been.

My man of the match tonight. One of the few players who didn't continually give the ball away or get brushed off it plus a headed assist for our goal.

Beat Preston and 7 points from a 3 game week with two on the road and, given our injuries, will be a decent return.

Also Mubama seems to have no upper body strength.

Shhhh! You aren't allowed to mention the -4 points....I mentioned it once but think I got away with it.

Yeah, Mubama is not going to cut it and we should return him to City in January.
