I was of the understanding that Shaw is a chelsea fan and wants to go there, so why would he sign for Man U? Ultimately, if we can sell him for £30m AND improve our 1st team and squad with that money (plus whatever other budget we have), an improvement that we otherwise couldn't do, then we should sell. If we sell and don't improve our squad, then its a very bad move.

A note on the pricing of different sections of the ground, the side centres being the most costly, I've never chosen to sit in the first say, half a dozen rows, it's just too low, the view sucks. Those seats should be cheaper.

Of course it depends on what the new board's 'project' is, but I can't see Lallana or Schneiderlin bailing out on the club just yet. Shaw maybe, but he's young and more impressionable perhaps, although he has been at saints since age 7. If we could sell Osvaldo and Ramirez for £20m-odd or more, plus a transfer kitty of say 10-15m then we can bring in 2, 3, maybe even 4decent players. A CB, a GK, a STK and a AM.

I appreciate all that. I'm just grasping for something. As good as we are, and the journey we're on is amazing, I take nothing away from that, it's just so frustrating watching us dominate teams like this and lose. There has to be another way, maybe not our preferred way, but something else. As I say, I'm just frustrated. Maybe we could have conceded ground and let them come on to us; we're very good at winning the ball back.

Bringing on subs isn't the only way to change a game you know. You can change formation, change style. Perhaps we could have done more to draw Cardiff out to try and get in behind them?

I'm not so sure about poch right now. Our play under him is a bit one dimensional, there is no plan b. What we struggle with now is breaking down teams that play defensively, with 2 banks of 4, getting bodies behind the ball. Parking the bus if you like. It's a consequence of our own success in a way cos we've earned some respect with the way we play which is why teams set up that way. The teams above us are good enough in their own right that they play their game and more often that not, it's good enough to beat us, despite us giving them a very good game. Cardiff were shocking in the first half today and it was just assumed that we could walk the ball into the net. You have to earn it. You have to beat what's in front of you. Perhaps we should've drawn cardiff out of their half a bit more to make space behind. Bottom line is we do very well against teams that play football. But, we need to figure out how to win the ugly games too. Poch hasn't shown any ability, tactically, to do that yet IMO. I'll say that injuries and our small squad haven't helped.

Pochettino to blame too. Slow passing. No ideas. No plan B. Just embarrassing to lose to that team really, who, despite being on the brink of relegation, showed no fight at all.
