Yes, Fonte. I mentioned Shaw in my post; if we sell him we need an adequate replacement. I believe Targett will step up to become 2nd choice LB, although Clyne can play there too. Boruc? As I said, I think we need better, or at least a challenger. We need 2 Keepers that we'd be happy to have in goal.

But the current players will become backup players when we buy better players to replace them in the 1st team.

I think it's fairly obvious, and common knowledge, that when Luke leaves, it will be for Chelsea.

We won't sign backup players, why would we? I think we should keep Yoshida, but we need a new CB of Lovren's quality. Yoshida and Fonte will be decent backup. Yes, we need a new GK. I don't think Shaw will go, but if he does, we need a new LB. Targett will provide backup. I'm not sure we need an AM, but after Jay Rod's injury we do need some pace in the team. Finally, yes, we definitely need another striker. For me, priorities are GK, CB and STK, plus LB if Shaw goes.

Absolutely gutted for Jay. I actually think he would've made the squad, but we'll never know, even if Roy comes out and says it. The rest of the squad, and the other England hopefuls in particular, must be devastated for him. Just wish him all the best now for a speedy and full recovery.

A new GK and CB, better than what we currently have, assuming they hit the ground running, will probably improve the goals conceded column by ooh, 10? Add a striker on the same basis and we could improve our goals for column by, 10 again? Top 6.

Yep, if we're going to continue our progress and improvement, then we need to replace Fonte. He's a decent CB but he is sometimes too casual, loses concentration and makes the wrong decisions sometimes, which usually lead to a serious mistake every other game. We need a keeper to challenge or replace Boruc, a CB and a striker with pace. Keeping our stars would be nice too!

People say this about many keepers, including Davis, but most keepers are good shot stoppers, else they wouldn't be keepers. It's the other stuff that makes them good, or even great keepers. Edit: So, in conclusion, I agree.
