  1. Seems to be nowhere near as good technically as Pelle. Does seem to be much more of a player whose effect is felt in the box and who requires good, early service like Gabbiadini does.
  2. I get the impression that his confidence is returning and that he will improve further.
  3. That's probablly libellous and you've reverted to type. Have a word with yourself: even if you hate AR10 as you seem to; just ignore him/her/it/whatever like the rest of us do with Glasgow. If it has even the grain of truth in it it, it'll have some benefit. Otherwise it's as much just idle chatter for an increasingly idle-minded society as it is the most important truth you'll ever hear in the next ten minutes before a picture of a cat in a hat (thanks Dr Seuss) comes along.
  4. HI CHERYL!
  5. Nowt to do with casualness. I know that about VVD and it's why he'll never play for the best. It's to do with natural talent. VVD has it. JWP doesn't. I do believe that if LR wasn't involved in keeping him he'd never had made a professional footballer.
  6. Interesting. Two posts in a row that spout utter rubbish including an unfounded belief that an untried striker who hasn't yet signed will do better than one who when fit is our best goalscorer and has a very good record. As your location mentions spurs, are we to believe you are someone who just heard the song, liked it, but came to the wrong message board and haven't cottoned on even after 16000+ posts?
  7. Y'see. I don't know Gallagher from you (or t'other). I do know 'owt' from 'out' but nvm. If you really watch SG it is quite obvious that he is already a good player and could be ****ing good. I hope this person (who I think will find the physical side of the PL very difficult) doesn't end up keeping him out of the team: I believe SG has the higher ceiling. Maybe you should watch some of the games our loanees play in before just 'assuming'; it's how you'd know that e.g. Stephens isn't that good in the air when challenged as it's been the same since he was at Swindon and what the standard is and whether a player shows that they can cope with it. It's also how I recognised that Sam McQueen wasn't the useless lump he appeared to be when he played in the reserves as his time at Southend showed. Anyway, let's hope Promes is our Mane replacement and we send Redmond and Tadic the other way (because we won't need them).
  8. Nope. If good old Les, Ross and Ralph think this no doubt we'll definitely have to enjoy next year in the league below. And, as many have said, Pellegrino could make Messi look ****e.
  9. Nah. Disagree entirely. Been coached; learned it. Doesn't have it. Much as you'll hate it a proper footballer e.g. VVD does all that without a second's pause. That's when you know they've got it. He kicks the ball all wrong, receives it all wrong, etc. Yes, he's done better of late but I tend to agree with Alpine on this while thinking Oakley was a better player. Davis was too until he went to pieces and he should be retired to join the coaching staff at the end of the season.
  10. I like Stephens. I'd sell him because he's not a natural defender and I think he's just a good footballer with no set position, he turns off as soon as a player runs away from him especially when they run towards another player as though he thinks the other player can mark two of the opposition or he shouldn't get involved and he just won't head the ball enough when under pressure. Which means he'll just keep on giving goals and opportunities away (as has been said many, many times before and again today). I don't think he could offer enough in defensive midfield because he won't cover enough ground like Romeu, he's too one-footed and he'll always switch off and someone will go past him. We now have to beat the teams around us. The commentator said our next 7 games are reasonably easy. 21 points and we should make it.
  11. Of course. Let me see now: double my money; relegation clause; live in my own little world where my every wish is catered for; don't understand English; have always wanted to play for a "Big Club" in the "best league in the world" vs a few boos. Hmmm. Yeah, I can't face it; I'll stick to £200 a week and having to clean my own boots. Not the best thought out argument unless you're one of these out of season snowflakes I keep hearing about. In which case you're probably not mentally tough enough anyway, are you?

  13. I believed you about the last bit and am now heartbroken. Especially as it is credible. Not interested in Walcott so don't care about that.
  14. This is an interesting thread. As has been said, most are too scared to actually speak up and this idea of 'toxicity' is quite frankly utter nonsense. Some, e.g. Redmond might be mentally weak enough to be worried by boos but most of the players will quickly just get wrapped up in the game. The few remaining who are interested in being winners both on the day in their own personal battle and overall will look to compete, some will retain a weaker mental fortitude and (possibly) be 'happy to be there' although I would hope that that attitude wouldn't be prevalent in those who are professional sportsmen. The protests are necessary if you consider a kickstart of some sort is required. If you aren't and you're happy to 'just support Saints' go to ****ing church. The excuse that Les Reed has to go first is crap. While he and Kreuger and probably a few others also need to be got rid of protesting against the 'manager' (or clown as he is aptly called) is not mutually exclusive to getting rid of those higher up the hierarchy and indeed it can easily be argued that the two are heavily joined which is to simply look at the argument mooted that LR is the problem in a more sensible fashion. The thing that Guan has said is that things need to be done (in his and how many others' opinion?) to show that the discontent that is felt is something that will be used to drive a change and that this discontent will be shown in a way that will counter all the guff/spin/PR bull**** that the club push out and that would otherwise convince the wider world that "The Southampton Way" is the second coming and highlight the plight of the club as felt by the fans who have this unnatural devotion to a thing which allows a load of blokes to be paid far too much money to kick a balloon around and who seem to care about it so much that they spend an inordinate amount of their lives talking about it as though it's been grafted to them. The protests need not be at an end when Pellegrino eventually goes and it's obvious that he'll only go when pushed as he seems to be entirely delusional in his sense of what is/isn't real based on his press utterings of late and can always continue against LR,RK et al. Hanging up a load of banners and being silent or leaving the banners there and deserting the ground/seats doesn't have to be disruptive. I think that will make a point though as it would both show the discontent and make it heard (through silence) and all that is is a ramping up of pressure on those above the current board and some employees to look to properly address the real problems; none of this pledge bull**** that we all know already will be hot air and more money wasted on marketing rather than paying Pellegrino's one way airfare to the North Pole where he can bore the arse off polar bears till he realises he has only one use which will probably be after the sun has gone supernova. Come tomorrow there will be ten days of the transfer window left. Come tomorrow it will be almost a month since the VVD sale was agreed. Come tomorrow we will still have MP bumbling along and hoping that the world will somehow warp itself to fit his idea of reality rather than realising that he's not really that good. Come tomorrow we will still see his cowardice in team selection, team structure, team 'strategy' and cowardice in not walking away because he can't admit he's simply not up to it. If you as fans want to support him in his cowardice by adding your own; do so. (I'm off to work in Derby so I can protest that way and try to tap up Rowett). How walking out and just congregating in the concourse while leaving an "MP/LR/RK out" banner can be seen as unnecessarily attritional is beyond me as is a few chants. The boos at the end are stupid; everyone does them and it hasn't helped the likes of Sunderland and any other club where the fans have been ****ed off at the goings on on the field and in the boardroom. Doing something a bit more at least gets the corporate types wriggling in their seats as their bosses turn up the heat on them. As to people having to provide a better 'solution' than MP. Why? Why should the customer have to tell the company how to do its job? Will everyone who does receive shares, a payout; or will e.g. LR take the credit and the cash and go about telling everyone how clever he's been? From what I've seen of MP, however, I would think Raidi Jaidi would be better and that is having seen the U23s in action.
  15. To you. Enjoy your sensitivity and your obvious connection to all of humanity Archangel Nolan. I'm off to read the rest of a football forum and consider the merits of making a stand against both the board and the manager, starting with the one who has had the greatest effect on our malaise.
  16. Yep. Might have to burn it in that case. Might try to film it anonymously and post it online: see if it galvanises the team to fight for the shirt (or continue to not give a ****).
  17. He's done far too much of that in his career so far from what I've seen: needs to be more attack minded but his current manager is another one who likes 'possession'.
  18. Ta, spose that's the best I'll have to expect. I agree that local businesses should always be treated fairly and properly (provided they aren't **** of course - you still have to deliver) and agree that is something I'd dislike to see happening.
  19. Is there any meat you can put on the bones of this? For example, I can imagine both LR and FK can be ruthless and businesslike in the required circumstances. "Being nice" is usually just bull**** (to we adults; not to suggest you're not but if people can't see through **** sometimes perhaps they're the ones in need of something more) and if, for example, you're sacked the end result is you're sacked. As an outsider I see him as driven, efficient and probably a bit lax with cash but things like the budget being overspent on the training facilities by such an amount must have produced a very strong feeling of being ****ed off and asking of people (e.g. me, if it were my cash) where the Hell the money had been spent, who ****ed up, etc and looking for heads to roll. Likewise, if you demand results and give everyone all the assistance they ask for and they don't deliver, wouldn't you be very likely to ask a lot of searching questions. In short, being a bastard in some ways goes with the job and (maybe) there were too many softies around who did **** jobs but wanted to be told they were great. From what you've said it sounds like much more than that (and I have little interest in Benali's house although I'm aware of that story) but without anything more I'll just note that a lot of people didn't like him but as I don't know them and can't validate what they have to say it won't mean much to me and I, like others, will just think he did do a lot of good things for us that LR (who now seems to be showing his true colours and his abilities as demonstrated to those at Charlton) seems to be undoing at a rate of knots along with Kreuger and co.
  20. We know ...
  21. Pretty much what I think. Fact is, he's now gash so get rid.
  22. We play like robots, to Les' template no doubt. Most of the players aren't much kop either. Can't we just bin Gardos off? He's obviously nothing other than the waste of a space.
  23. Reverse lobotomy. 3 for the price of one and mix the brains up: won't make a difference.
  24. I disgagree and you should read the post by Guan that makes it clear that the company are very averse to negative publicity (which should be obvious given their penchant for spin, choice of pet reporter, the fact that the owner comes from a culture where 'face' is essential in both life and business and so on) and it would do a great deal of harm to the brand and future revenue-generating operations were this to be hurt by such adverse publicity and would be something that those corporate types (RK, for example) would undoubtedly fear. The only thing you probably should do is coordinate with each other and across the different elements of the fan base e.g. not 606/TUI to present things 'better' for 'media approval'.
  25. Sorry Les, I see no reason to help you get your arse out of gaol: do it yourself.
