When Manning came on I actually thought he made us worse defensively. He goes MIA and did some terrible ball give aways in our half. At least perraud tried to defend.
-
actually good point i forgot we had cash

Transfermarkt not working for me but whose currently free as a manager cos we wont be paying for another.
-
Lost 4 straight games, were not unlucky in any of them, same mistakes over and over and over again. We now look poor attacking as well, to be honest we look like some bipolar real housewife type a fucking mess, terrible at everything. I dont think SR will sack him but if he is on thin ice 100% now.

I thought football was about highs and lows, where is my fucking high !!
-
Martin could be seriously on the chopping block for the next international break.
-
If I'm Alcaraz I'm telling my agent to get to work.
-
This is bollocks isn't it
-
I would also like us to pass the ball a bit faster and inject some tempo into this walking football and move boro around a bit.
-
If I could make some changes i would do this given we now need a goal. Bring on manning and switch KWP back Replace Smallbone with Alcaraz to link up with the forwards better and have a goal scoring midfielder on. Give fraser 10mins of the 2nd half then put on Sulemana Replace anyone else as needed.

Not sure I am calling that near post given the bloke shot near the D at the edge of the box, he got a strong hand to it but the shot was just hard, it happens.

KWP dishing out some hospital passes there
-
Got to be a first most of saintsweb like the team line up
-
I would of put carlos in ahead of smallbone for sure.
-
he's playing RB with KWP on the left Bit harsh to go all in on him after his poor debut - reckon he can do the job at RB today and will bring much needed height on 1 flank at least, will be more conservative going forward so I expect our entire team to be much much more solid, then we bring on edozie and sulemana at 70mins to destroy the boro team.
-
Agree but the only thing armstrong does massively better is track back and defend and given our latest games I'm ok with us having a more solid middle and 2 wingers who track back at least.
-
Guess downs/charles and smallbone Fraser. Adams. Armstrong
-
trousers quick on the draw
-
Prime barcelona on show, we get 90% possession and have 40 shots on goal and lose 1 - nil 🤣

From another thread i asked AI how we should beat boro What we should do v Boro When facing a team like Middlesbrough, Russell Martin's Southampton FC should consider the following tactics: Control the Midfield: Middlesbrough is known for their physicality and direct style of play. Hence, controlling the midfield is crucial. The 4-1-4-1 formation allows for a strong midfield presence. The single pivot can help disrupt Middlesbrough's play, while the four midfielders can help maintain possession and control the tempo of the game. Quick Transitions: Given Middlesbrough's direct style, quick transitions from defense to attack can catch them off guard. The inverted wingbacks and midfielders should look to quickly move the ball forward after regaining possession. Defend Set Pieces Well: Middlesbrough can be a threat from set pieces due to their physicality. Good organization and man-marking during set pieces is key to prevent conceding goals. Exploit Wide Areas: As the wingbacks push forward, there could be space to exploit on the flanks. Quick switches of play to the wingbacks can help create scoring opportunities. Press High: A high press can disrupt Middlesbrough's build-up play and force them into mistakes. However, the team should be careful not to overcommit and leave spaces at the back.
