  2. Over 25 posts from Hypochondriac in this thread. I wonder who the real egocentric is? Cortese or Hypochondriac? You choose people!
  3. I always found it particularly galling that our pitch announcer, Stuart Dennis was an Exeter City fan.
  4. Donny Hathaway - 'Everything is Everything'.
  5. The following quote is from Markus Liebherr. I suggest you read it. Then hopefully you won't be such a tool. Nicola has been pivotal in conceiving the purchase of the Club and making it happen. I am now delighted to entrust him with overseeing the Club's progress, development and achievement of success over the long term. Nicola and I have enjoyed a long business relationship and it was Nicola who convinced me about buying the Club. He then conducted what proved to be a very difficult process very expertly and professionally. Ultimately, it happened because Nicola was at all times focused on strong business and ethical principles. Since our early conversations about the deal I made it clear that I would only buy the Club if he remained involved following the purchase.
  6. This forum has become plagued with reactionary bed wetters; most of whom are probably twenty-somethings who still live at home with Mummy and Daddy. I cannot believe that people are calling NC egotistical. It simply beggars belief. He has given only a handful of interviews in his tenure, and has pretty much kept in the background since coming to Saints. He has behaved with a level of professionalism and dignity that we have not seen at our club for many years. Our transfers and financial dealings happen behind closed doors and very little information leaks out. We have a smart, no-nonsense chairman who has proven financial acumen as well as a first class business brain. He has made an incredibly successful career for himself. Maybe some of you have forgotten about his background? So here's the Wiki summary. He was involved for ten years in sports business practice as head of the sports and entertainment desk at various Swiss banks, providing global services to sports and entertainment professionals. His most recent position was as an executive at Banque Heritage in Geneva where he managed the finances of billionaires. He had previously run the sports business desk for Credit Suisse It's a new season and another new chapter at Saints and I don't know about you lot, but I would certainly appreciate some communication from the Chairman as to the club's ambitions both in the short and long term. So the chairman has his photo on the cover of the program. That seems like a pretty obvious thing to do if he has written something inside it for the first time. I rarely buy a program but I will probably buy this as I'm interested in what NC has to say. I wouldn't have known to buy it if he wasn't on the cover. He looks smart, serious and ruthless. Think of some of the utter tools running other football clubs and some of the things they say and do.......
  7. Fingers crossed.
  8. When we lose I usually set fire to a tramp.
  9. Sun Ra - 'The Futuristic Sounds of Sun Ra'.
  10. A rapist CDAJFU. Golden thread.
  11. Four of us staying in block 5. We have also upgraded our two free kids seats from last year and sold them to a couple of mates for the season.
  12. Oh No vs Oneness of JuJu.
  13. Good question. Surely this is Boj territory?
  14. Got to be Nick Holmes. Boj is my favourite SWF beardie.
  15. Perhaps you can elaborate and tell us all exactly what it is that you expect from the club?
  16. Not a caption: what do you read from AOC's body language in this photo?
  17. Yes, outside. The funfair, live band, fast food stand etc was outside the Kingsland. You could move freely from the stadium to the area outside.
  18. No pleasing some people is there!
  19. Me and a mate took our daughters to the game. It was a fantastic family day out, the girls had a brilliant time. Hats off to NC for organising it. I totally understand why many people didn't come; and I don't believe that the attendance reflects badly on us as fans. I suspect that the club may have taken a big financial loss yesterday; but I don't think that a different pricing policy would have made much difference. We still all love the club and we still all love Markus. The real proof of that will be obvious on 6th August when we take on Leeds.
  20. Got mine today. No problem. I'm a renewal, and I paid in full.
  21. Oh..... and this! Directed by Spike Jonze. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhH9Y6q3Hhk
  22. Gainsbourg I'm a big fan of Serge Gainsbourg. The word 'legend' is bandied about far too much these days, but in Gainsbourg's case it would be entirely appropriate to use it. The man was a great lover, a bon viveur extaordinaire and a musical genius. 'Je t'aime....moi non plus' is IMHO the sexiest song ever recorded; and that's even after taking into account the thousands of times it was played at every lame disco I went to as a kid. The film is pretty good and is well worth watching even if you're not a fan of Gainsbourg. You can't help but be impressed by him. My only criticism of the film is that it skimmed over large periods of his life far too quickly but I suppose that is to be expected in any biopic. 7/10
  23. Bob James - 'One'. Superb. Bob James has to be one of the most sampled artists of all time!
