  1. Don't bother with either Phil. They are both purveyors of lowest common denominator bubblegum dance music for people who dont know better. Instead, spend your money on a CD of Larry Levan live at the Paradise Garage and own a piece of dance music history. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Live-Paradise-Garage-Larry-Levan/dp/B00004W5BE/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1328559012&sr=8-4
  2. Hey Will, hope you're well. Just thought I'd let you know that Solid Steel are doing a new weekly live radio show, broadcasting in London. The first show was last night (Thursday). You can listen in online too. Here are some details: From February 2nd and every Thursday between 7-9pm, you can listen to Solid Steel on the new London radio station Strongroom Alive. It will be presented live by Coldcut, alongside DJ Food and DK, with guest mixes, interviews and competitions. Listeners in London can tune in to 87.9 FM on the radio (and Freeview channel 111) and across the world you can hear it on http://www.strongroom.fm Also, there are limited quantity download slots available of old archived mixes. Here's one of Coldcut from 2000; get in there quick mate before the downloads max out: http://solidsteel.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=6a14ebd3be69ddfacbaee8799&id=181c75ffd8&e=d223a638f9 All the best, Oli

  8. Any regular PS3 BF3 players on here? IDs?
  9. Is this the major marquee signing we've all been waiting for?
  10. Bf3
  11. 7 million? That's crazy money. RL only cost 1 million.
  12. And racists.
  13. In future, should any members feel offended by racist language on this forum, may I point you in the direction of this resource: http://standuptohate.blogspot.com/p/reporting-online-abuse-and-extra.html
  14. You did NOT say that all forms of racism are unacceptable. You said that it would take "repeat offences" of words like 'Chinky' to invoke a ban in a pub situation (having already likened this forum to a pub). If this isn't condoning racism, I don't know what is. So the message to racists from forum moderators is: You can use words like 'Chinky' on the main board more than once before you are banned. Utterly pathetic.
  15. Saint Clark, your response to the points I raised is deeply insulting. Firstly, you liken this forum to a pub. It is not a pub. It is an internet forum that can be viewed by children. Secondly, there is a place for banter here: that's the Muppet show; and even there "Racist and homophobic comments or pornographic images are strictly forbidden and will result in infractions or bans". These comments were on the Main board. Thirdly, if I was in a pub with my wife (who is Chinese) and I heard the language used on Tadanari Lee thread then my response would be quite different from yours. Do you honestly think that it is acceptable to use this language in a pub? Really???? Would YOU say it to MY wife? Or, if you were a landlord and someone called my wife a 'Chinky' in your pub, would you merely shout them down and tell them to shut up? How many times would someone have to call my wife a 'Chinky' in your pub before you banned them. Three? Four? Five? Or perhaps more? Finally, despite your "guarantee that none of the mods or admin in any way condone or agree with racism at any level", I am afraid you are wrong. You are turning a blind eye to racism, which makes you complicit. Racism is racism. It's quite simple really. There are not 'socially acceptable' forms of racism that are ok in a pub or bar. All forms of racism are completely unacceptable. You have missed an opportunity here. By being lenient you are saying that it's not a particularly serious offence to call an Asian person 'slanty' or whatever. You had the opportunity to make an example, to make a statement about the SWF policy towards racist language, and you and ALL of the 'moderators' have been found wanting. Should this language appear again, I know that I will be wasting my time reporting it to the site moderators.
  16. To the mods. If Tadanari Lee does sign for our club, anyone who abused him using the racist language seen on this forum at a home game would be banned from SMS and would probably be facing criminal charges. Similarly, if someone were to do the same in Southampton city centre they would also be liable to prosecution. I have seen rather a lot of 'casual' racist language on this forum in the last 24 hours. I have reported it to the mods and today I see that the offending posts have been removed, including my own post in which I highlighted two members, who I described as 'racist scum'. However, it seems that the only punitive action taken against these racists is the issuing of meaningless infraction points. According to St Chalet, this was done after consulting with other moderators. Please would you be kind enough to explain why you have not permanently banned these people from the forum. It strikes me as rather bizarre that you do not consider banning an appropriate course of action for the use of racist language on this forum, when at a football ground or in the street, criminal proceedings could well be the outcome.
  17. Cocteau Twins - 'Treasure'.
  18. Who cares?!? We'll be in the Premier League next season.
  19. Don't bother. Smart phones are sooooo last season. This spring, it's tin cans and string darling. Retro chic is all the rage. HTH
  20. Here's part II.
  21. I have an Acer Iconia A500. About £300 ish. I'd recommend it. Mobile internet or just Wi-Fi? That will affect price.
  22. Incredible AV mix by DK.
  23. Dr Timothy Leary - 'Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out'.
  24. Great band. But should've stayed where they were...... in the past. I lose respect for bands that reform and cash in on a tour. Seems to be a lot of it about. Maybe this is due to the woeful state of the current music scene. There's very little exciting, original stuff out there for the masses: Retro childhood revisits for the 30/40 somethings or Cowell's processed dross for the pop tarts.
