  1. At least it cannot be said to be derisory
  2. Am I the only one who is increasingly finding it difficult to understand what you are saying? I don't dispute that you have a 'source' but can you relay what your source tells you with updates that are understadable. Thanks
  3. I only recall it on one occasion...Away to Birmingham in the (ill-fated) relegation run in. Van Damme played left-wing back and we were 2 gown in the first 10 minutes, I think. The painful memories of this game may mean, though, that my mind recalls it far worse than it was. I think I saw 2 draws in 8 away games after Christmas - missing the away win at Middlesrough as it was a Sunday afternoon non-sky game.
  4. That will teach me for believing another poster on another incarnation on this thread. When my motto is 'trust no one, suspect everyone' I am as distraught as distraught can be. I guess it shows that I am right to try & live by that motto, though!
  5. Perhaps we are not interested in him? Koeman has managed him previously at Feyenoord. Plus, you will always get those that will argue he has no EPL experience, has been playing in a below-standard league (SPL) etc etc What if we did sign him, and then another of our 'rivals' then go & sign Vlaar or someone seen as better than VVD and better value for money to boot? Lets just wait and see what pans out...
  6. Forster is in the England squad and is coached by Saints' goalkeeping coach. Do you think he does not know his onions?
  7. Do you still believe that you are a keeper? :-) :-)
  8. Funny but when we were initially linked with Tadeer, Schelotto, Leroy Fer (even Classie) the line was "we are already well-stocked in that position. We need to sign 2 CBs" or the other splinter sell of 'glass half-emptyers would claim "This obviously means Morgan &/or Cork are off too". So when a midfield player who has only been linked in passing joins another club it is 'another one we hae missed out on'. Good grief!
  9. We are the same odds to finish 8th as we are be relegated. Also, if we retained all our star names what is the draw to sit on the bench in a 'mid-table' side? Won't they become frustrated & disillusioned and look to be moved on? Is it not just as likely that if their chances of playing (and if impressing getting a helping hand up the ladder) are better then they will sign for us?
  10. Well, if the hijackers are looking for a ransom to be paid, then they are very likely to be disappointed as Les will not be able to get the deal across the line. All offers will be derisory. Plus, he should have been prepared for this event - we all knew that any thread on this board would go this way since the end of the season.
  11. Dave Watson is the England & Saints goal-keeping coach. Given the links with Ruddy & Forster over the summer and our apparent decision to submit an offer to Celtic for Forster's services then I would tend to go with the expert's view who knows the players. Personally, I have not seen enough of him. It is hard to judge with SPL football and generally in Europe, Celtic are going to come up against sides far better so he will either appear to have a worldy or let in 3 because the 10 in front of him are not able to restrict the flow of chances.
  12. I am note sure why Morgan would say not 4 weeks ago that he would not ask for a move if it is true that he had been granted one already? Anyway, after this tantrum I would call in the PFA and tell them to keep their members in check and remind them that they have a contract which they willingly signed. To say that it is unprofessional is putting it mildly. The complete lack of respect a number of players have shown to the supporters has been a disgrace.
  13. So difficult the site should just be closed down. The online wrist-slitters can then just do the whole world a favour, or just me would suffice
  14. So can someone recall who it was that spoke with his dad at the end of the season who stated he had just signed for Liverpool for £3m? It was on the Lambert thread the evening he signed for Liverpool? Another one we can remove from the genuine ITKs. Any one with a child in a premier league academy set up would do well to remember the club's record
  15. Its only in the first team that chambers has played right back. He played midfield in the youth sides. He looks a very intelligent footballer. I can see him playing in a 3 at the back, though at 19 there is no rush to play him every minute of every game.
  16. I thought that any signings before the next full moon would be catastrophic? No signings until around the 30th July I think you suggested? Has your faith in the moon & stars been shattered?
  17. I heard a rumour during the world cup that Real Madrid had mih on their list of potential targets. After Casillas' performances in the world cup this may be hastened (and is not like Real had him as clear number one for the last 2 years)
  18. As disapointing as it is, when weren't we a shop window? On the plus side, having the glass window smashed and be thrown in the back of van speeding up the M3, it would mean that we and the player in question next time have continued to belie those quick to write us off. Enbrace the breeding ground for other clubs' latest multi-million pound transfer and continue to look down at Newcastle, West Ham etc with an air of smugness. COYS!
  19. He earlier retweeted a tweet from someone he is currently on holiday with which included @SouthamptonFC - perhaps positive that its a reminder of his current employers?
  20. What - and produce our own website!? Talk about making us a laughing stock. The clubs are just amateurs. Would never have happened when our plan for world domination was still being bought into
  21. You originally said deals already done made public. Then when mentioning Belgium players it is now it is just rumour ?
  22. This is the one that will disapppoint me most. In fact, I'd be upset (in a sad way). Morgan has been my favourite player ever since he first pulled on the shirt. It was obvious even it that relegation season that the lad was class. He is currently (and perhaps at least) 10 times the player he was then.
  23. I wish he had afforded Koeman the opportunity and respect of a conversation. It is this though which makes it clear that it was not Saints looking to raise cash for their 'fire sale', but the player wishing to play at a 'higher level' (all be it in the same league, same national team..). For this reason Saints have tried to obtain the very best deal from his suitors
  24. You make it sound like the player had no wish to leave himself and it was Saints who decided to take the money against the wishes of Shaw. I am certain the club would have loved nothing more than for Shaw to play his entire career at Saints.
  25. A fire sale was accepting £5m for Gareth Bale when we were in administration. Accepting an offer of £30m for an 18yo left back is not. May I suggest that if you do not wish to be labelled a 'bed-wetter', you don't use such evocative words. If something that does sadden me, then it is that Shaw has not even had the good grace to meet & speak with Koeman. I hope the others affird him, the club & supporters that respect
