  1. When I raised the issue of signing a new contract with Jesus Perez he shook his head in dismay and said that they find it amusing that 'the English are obsessed with long contracts. Maurichio still has more than one year on his existing contract, no?' I am not saying that this appeases me as I do believe him being here next season is crucial to convincing some of our players not to have their heads turned (too early at least), but it is consistent with waiting until the end of the season
  2. Can't believe it took until post #16 for this to be dropped in. Even more surprising that it wasn't dropped by certain other posters
  3. Anyone heard this before? Seems to strike a bell with me: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26514159
  4. That shouldn't mean that season tickets holders are not entered into their own draw for seats at the end of season bash though, surely? What is so fundamentally wrong about being afforded an equal opportunity
  5. And how much of a gamble is allowing Osvaldo to go back to Italy, leaving Jay & Rickie to be covered by Sam Gallagher & your favourite, Guly?
  6. Very much THIS. The wording is very clear.... though if you are only going to read between the lines, then you won't see what is written above and below
  7. It would include any future sale, yes. However, it is positive that such a decision will be with those interests to the fore. It must also be noted that this does not mean they are actively looking to sell now - as they have already stated in recent days
  8. Can you commence therapy 2 days after breaking a leg (if that is the prognosis)? - a genuine question.
  9. You must be delighted as you can continue to have your own opinion with the glass always being (half) empty.

    Howard Webb

Apparently there were at least to covering defenders though. (Give me strength) We also have to remember that Howard Webb saw nothing wrong with Nigel de Jong's challenge in the world cup final. Webb is dining out on the excellent job he did with the Muamba incident at white hart lane still. He is not the worst, but that is still being damned with feint praise
  11. Everyone has Lovren in the starting XI? I noticed on Sunday that he was struggling for a bit in the 2nd half after making a challenge. I assume that it is nothing to be concerned about as he was able to finish the game? Losing Boruc, Morgan & Lovren at the same time would be a big, big blow, even if the latter 2 are not selected tomorrow with a view to being available for other upcoming games in a very busy run of fixtures
  12. I see little is being mentioned, nationally, of the ineptness of the players playing behind the 3 'forward' players. No support from the 2 full backs and the 3 of Lampard, Milner, and to a lesser extent, Wilshere was just abject at best. There was no fluidity in the system. No support for one another, and just too much space between the line of defence, midfield and attack. It was like a real-action fussball side! I thought that J-Rod's inclusion was a bit leftfield, but it appears to be a formation Roy is keen to use and Jay fits the bill currently, especially with the injuries. But to hang him out to dry is wrong, though not at all surprising by all that live to knock people down. What should be of far greater concern is that England do not seem to have enough midfield & defenders that can play a technical 4-3-3 formation, a coach that knows how it should be played... and perhaps not enough English Saints players. We all know how JWP, Clyne & Shaw play in this formation. I dont see how on that performance last night they would not have done a far better job at delivering progressive football than Johnson, Baines & Milner
  13. Neville was at the game today. No doubt he will be able to appreciate and evaluate his (and Shaw's) performance. He seems not to be blinded by having to play for a "top 4" team. He also seems to have been keeping quite a close eye on what has been going on at the club this past year. So, who knows
  14. That's alright then! I am still harbouring hopes of playing international football for 'the rock' myself and I qualify through birth.
  15. The fact that he qualifies through a Spanish mother is interesting considering their claim to the territory. If Spanish-born people qualify, the argument for it to be a British overseas territory with self-determination secured under UN statute is weakened.
  16. Give the ball to Fernandez in stoppage time, when we were leading, and that was as good as the game won. He was great at running in circles.
  17. SSN live to Southampton??? What on earth for? Nothing to see here. Everyone is at home watching Jim White
  18. Thats just great - I am running a half marathon in London on the Sunday. I may be able to be back in the car for around 1pm but it will mean I am unlikely to have had time to shower if I do make kick off! Also, for anyone travelling from London that day, there are no trains between Waterloo & Basingstoke until after kick off!
  19. Wes, I think I may have just given up another 10% of my royalties! "The Ballad of John & Yoko" is a far better tune for a song for Osvaldo.
  20. Cheers! 90% of all royalties are still mine, mind!
  21. Scoring all the goals for Southampton, He didn't want to play for the Spurs. The guy in the goal said, "I didn't see that, You know he didn't even give me a chance" Christ you know it ain't easy, You know how hard it can be. The way things are going He's gonna score two or three. I did prefer 'you know how hard he can shoot' but then that didn't scan with 'score two or three'
  22. You must have got tasty odds on that happening!
  23. He also said before kick off that we had paid way over the odds. His opinions, clearly, are as valid as most on here! :-)
  24. No mention yet about which team's kit that is Rickie is holding & wearing. Is The9 ok? Can someone that has his number phone him to check? I am concerned
