  1. I am pleased with that draw as i am not around for that match. I would have been miffed had we drawn one of the big 4 at St Mary's
  2. As I am not around on 2 Jan any lower league side home or away, or failing that an away draw to a PL or CCC side. I am back for any replay at SMS, mind.
  3. I remember Milky fondly from the Nicholl season in 88-89. He also scored the best goal of the night in the home win over Norwich, when Tiss (more famously) got the other 3. Best wishes to him and his family
  4. May be it is part of a cunnnig plan? Saints list in a 1st team squad... the oppo see a new name and see his is 6ft 2. They play a big, slow hulk of a CB against him, and Kayne duly dances through his legs and slaloms past 3 covering defenders before cooling slotting past the bemused keeper!! Other than that I thought he was no bigger than 5ft 8 (I didn't though laugh and abuse him like the racist tool that sat behind me in the Chapel last season)
  5. Since the last time he screwed us. So, to be fair, he is consistant!
  6. Interesting, cos I heard Lambert was paid for with gold - though am not sure of its source ;-) The last time I knew, transfer fees were paid: x amount now; a further payment in 6 months; then, the final payment on the anniversary of the signing. Cash in a brown bag is not how it works
  7. but if the poor results continue even after getting in a few decent players? Its no guarantee after all
  8. well, I have neither heard of, nor care for, you.... knob (Your term of endearment, not mine)! Many fans are just glad to have a club to buy a season ticket for this season than to worry about whether they were extended the invitation to purchase one. Get over yourself! Having a team to support this year should bring those out that had an intention to buy (as it would appear to be too with 11000 sales plus). So too have the season ticket deals on offer under the new regime. Notably the family season ticket deals. They have cleverly targeted the next generation by as good as giving them a season ticket for nowt. This is a new dawn. A new beginning. New hope. You can stick your self-importance where the sun does not shine
  9. I don't think they are really worthy of your support. It even seems that you are using your kids as a pawn in your little game of making yourself out to be important, whose patronage should be begged and pleaded for. Just why should the club grovel? Perhaps you could ask one of your contacts in the media to run a piece on you?
  10. "look at me !!!!"
  11. Time for administration. Time to put us all out of our misery.
  12. Nowhere near enough to appease some
  13. and how bored do you think some of us are of people expecting 6 new signings whilst wishing Rasiak, Saga and John are nailed down to new long-term, big-money contracts? You don't just creep up on a player and throw a sack over him, dragging him down here against his will. You have to convince them that playing L1 this season is something they want to do as part of a plan to see the club push for promotion back up the leagues. That is easier said than done. there are plenty of PL clubs that struggle to convince players to join and even stay.
  14. can someone ask me how I would feel if I had to read another one of these threads? I shall cherish the memories of the week following the takeover. The optimism has gone too soon.
  15. I think we should enter administration again. It is the only way out of this mess. You only have to go back to 8 July to see that for 2 whole weeks everythng in the garden was rosey. Bring on administration!!
  16. Isn't this a damning indictment of your ambitions? I mean, coming on here begging for people to turn up with boots?! You should be flashing the cash and making "big name" signings. Pay peanuts, you get monkeys... Start with low expectations, expect to achieve little. ;-)
  17. That is absolute nonsense. It is all about spending money on the right players. This may be paying them more per week (Bosmans), then paying club x £1m, then having to pay the player high wages too. The sides that have had success in the past few seasons and punched above their weight have been very very astute, not stupid, with money. In fact, you only have to look down the road to see how if you "sign" the right kind of player then you can get great returns. Merson, Sheringham, Prosinecki; Berger all cost nada yet helped in either their promotion or relegation battles before becoming (cough) established in the PL Wigan, Bolton, Hull, Derby, Bristol City, Burnley, Doncaster, Blackpool are also sides that have gained promotion and/or consolidated by spending wisely.
  18. Yet someone who excites does guarantee success??????? Do you not think the hope....no, the expectancy would be better. We are L1! Once you have more realistic expectations you may come to realise WGS, Klinsmann, Curbs, KK were non starters
  19. And those would be bad signings in L1?? If he signed those then it won't be for not having the calibre/quality of player in the aim of gaining promotion
  20. How about a football club to watch? Not exciting enough for you?
  21. I did qualify it by saying if the structure was a go-er. They have stated though that they wish to get the football side of the set up in place as they admit they have no experience of this themself. It may also come in within budget if they feel this is equally or more important than paying vast wages to players (look where Rasiak, Saga, John, Thomas, BWP got us in the past 2 seasons)
  22. Most disappointed? Has this anything to do with the moon in cancer?
  23. Or perhaps Coppell & Pardew as the new managerial set up? Coppell knows Pardew of old going back to Palace in the 90s. May be Coppell does not want a coaching role (or old manager's role), but the idea of Pards as head coach and him as General manager appeals? If this structure is a go-er then I would have preferred Poyet (with Coppell), but Pards is a good choice too. At least we would have 2 people with football knowledge running the football side of the club. Wasn't long ao that we got shot of the anithesis of this.
  24. It was a good job you did not tell him that you work for The Sun, as I am sure he would not have told you anything knowing you have little discretion.
  25. I think you will find that I would take TA over Bryan Robson. If Robson's name had not been mentioned then I wouldn't be saying anything remotely positive about Adams
