so bid 1: LLS..... rumours that now floundering due to wihdrawal of backer bid 2: MLT/Pinnacle..... not actually submitted bid 3: there is no bid 3. Whilst it is not that worrying that the ITKers on here have not be shown to be right, it is worrying that South Today have not even given the slightest mention since the report on Weds that news is expected within 24hrs. Will the frustration of following saints ever end?

MLT on SSN confirmation of Consortium involvment

Last Friday being 1 May? What then about the one purported to have been received fri 24 April? -
Yeah - but you also know we would already be 2 down by this point if a win would mean that it cancels out the -10 pts!

Lowe & Richards in board room on Sunday at Forest....Confirmed by Club
thefuriousb replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
I don't think that those were the actual words used. I think it was more a case that relegation has seen the value of the club fall. Which I guess means that the offers received have not been as lucrative as they would have had we stayed up - though stand to be corrected if I have mis-interpreted. -
Beware the asset stripper but its ok to trumpet, ad nauseum, the cause of someone without a pot to P*ss in?

FA to investigate a "reported missing £40m"
thefuriousb replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Yet with pretty much the same number of games, Portsmouth survived the following year - picking up 20 points from the last 30 available? Redknapp, Lowe, the players - all share the blame for the relegation from the PL in 2005. In much the same way, Wotte has had enough games to get 1 or 2 more victories. As too have the players. Even with Lowe's "meddling". No one is absolved from blame in the last 6 years, in my view -
Also, Dennis Roach, as Hoddle's agent, gave him some seriously bad advice when trying secure his release from his role as head coach and enable Hoddle to take over at Spurs. He basically told Hoddle to stay where he was on holiday and not return until the club had granted him permission to talk to spurs.

No - that is Pini Zahavi (whose name was mentioned somewhere one here yesterday) I think he is known for being a "fixer" of deals as much as being a football agent

For the first time in years I've got a big smile on my face.

I also hope they do not think that simply paying players big money is the solution. The past 3 years should at least have taught us that. Players with a passion and desire to win/succeed/point to prove are what we will need. No point throwing yet more good money after bad just for the sake of it. We will need more of the same should we go up so don't spend it all getting out of L1 -
Wasn't the story also that Barclays sought advice too before invoking the clause when the plc exceeded the agreed overdraft by £6k as they are fully aware of how they inextricably linked to money in football (ie the premier league) or indeed lack of it (all other divisions)? If this is true, I would imagine also that they are sitting a tad uncomfortably at present.

Ever heard the footballing phrase "defending from the front"? That has been our problem. Invididually and, to a fair extent, collectively, the back four have been fine. The problem lies in the protection provided by the 6 ahead of them.

This, I feel, is what may be the outcome. -
League deduct 10 Points - Will apply in L1 Next Season

I have not actually heard Leon's exact words but it seems that Mawhinney is just securing his own position I always thought that the football club itself could not be a Plc. a holding company had to be established - which would be the listed company, and the club would be a limited company within the Plc structure? These were FA (or PL rules)? also, in the heady days of the Prem were we really covering our arse against administration? The past few years when the club has continued to operate beyond its means would suggest we did not plan at all well for that eventuality (???). At any time since 1996 the rules of the league(s) could have been changed to prevent our Plc status from being used in this manner. It would again therefore not be prudent to think it would remain our "get out of jail free card". \not that the Lowe admin could have been targeting that, given they did not adopt the Leeds "shoot for the starts" policy to spending money. Leon was also not an executive director at the time that SLH was formed. How exactly would he know? -
But we haven't though, have we? That's part of the whole problem (money out > money in).
-
Absolutely! Just said the same thing on the post match thread. For a chap who has played his entire career to date as the linch-pin of the midfield in the youth and reserve set up he has been an unmitigated success.
-
The whole back four played well today (davis' one save was in stoppage time?). They also got excellent protection from Wotton & McG. Everyone battled for the cause today. Everyone. However, I would like to give extra special mention to Lloyd James. Not only did he deal superbly with Victor Moses, arguably one of the best left-sided players in the CCC, but he also gave us a threat going forward. I think he has been the biggest plus from what has been a very very difficult season. We may have unearthed a solid right back out of a central midfield linch-pin.
-
May be because he is another attention seeking poster, who claims to be ITK but doesn't actually post anything of substance, whatsoever? If he knows anything of any prospective consortium then should he be posting on a public forum? If he chooses to, then should what is posted be treated with a certain degree of suspicion (we all know certain posters love to smell out a PR plant)? Again, if he does, and they appear to want the lease SMS on matchdays, does that highlight a limitation on not just their ambition but their resources? I think it is best to treat such posts with "suspicion"

Too many consortiums for Mr Fry (and us)?
thefuriousb replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
I still do not get why they would be put off by the interest of others. Many on here felt that we were a good opportunity for the right people. Mark Fry clearly feels that to be the case too. He made that clear in the 1st press conference. If they were that well educated this would not have been a surprise. Why did they not make an appointment before the game or for last Monday morning if they wanted to quickly move the bid forward? It almosts sounds as if they are preparing their excuses at the first sign of having to compete. -
No, i didn't say that you said that. However, the administrator set a deadline before the Burnley home game for a reason in order to secure funding...... it is known as the wage bill. So waiting to see which league we are in is a moot point. Barring a "miracle" the league we will be in next year is pretty much assured now. Can you see us picking up 10 points from the last 12? Only genuine consortia, prepared for L1 next year need apply. we have to be prepared and so must prospective new owners
-
Why are they not looking at a team almost, let alone half way, there now on that premise? If there is a genuine "sugar daddy" ie billionaire, interested then they should factor in that it was, and now is, more likely that we will be in L1 next year rather than still a CCC side. If they are waiting to see what happens then they are even more optimistic then even I am normally. Also, is the deadline set by the administrator after the Sheff Wed game, ie with 2 more fixtures to go. We will never be safe by 5.00pm next saturday. On that basis, they are out
-
Any sugar daddy who did not think that it was more likely that we would be in L1 next year than not could not have made their money based on their accumen. With 6 games to go at the time (now 4) and only 3 league wins this year, what would lead them to believe that CCC survival was assured? Anyone genuinely interested will be aware that we will more than likely go down to come back up.

We know that one don't consider themself to be serious if they are put off by the presence of Marc Jackson - that well known deliverer of promises. That they are supposed saints fans. That they seem to be appealing to the forum to support their bid - one we know absolutely nothing about. One they hope we will support as FF is a respected poster and someone with Saints in his heart.
