who thinks it's gonna be another last day relegation fight?

Spot on. Which makes rallying round the team essential. -

I think Kelvin would be the greater miss. Hopefully his mobile is again switched off right the way through the January transfer window. Lallana or Drew may be the ones that secure us financially for another year. Whilst those still at the club on higher wages will see their contracts expire. Getting through to next summer should see greater financial stability. -
Has he signed yet? :-)

Was this during the period when the ticket office phone & online system was unavailable - see saints website & also a thread on here?

They used Saints to get the reluctant Coventry shareholders to sell for next to nowt. They refused to respond to the questions of the plc board as they never had any intention of taking us over. You should be mad at them really

With older, more experienced, (arguably) better class of player.... tbf

I struggle to understand how you are unable to see that some of the football we have played, and continue to try and play, this season, does not compare favourbaly with the disappointing dross served up much of last year under both Burley & Pearson. May be its my time of life, but I am walking away proud of and encouraged by the team's efforts and displays this season. I don't recall doing that much at all last year (possibly with the exception of Bristol City at home)

You are quite right. Lowe should have been driven from the club the last time. Unfortunately, Wilde & Crouch were just playing with their train set and never ever had the wealth to dispose of Lowe. In my view your protest should actually be aimed at these 2 for failing to deliver, rather than Lowe who has ridden back in to try and claim the "saviour" tag. I don't understand the "cutting your nose off to spite your face" mentality of some, esp as they are the first to bemoan the lack of purchases and the occurrence of player sales. I support the club (the team). Not lowe, not wilde & not crouch.

Did you go at all (even if it was just to SMS) last season? If you did then you simply cannot stand by a word of the above statement. Unless, that is, your definition of ages is June & July? PS I take it this is not one of those occasion when you are the first to give credit and praise where it is due?
-
Then the 5 (out of 9) sides that haven't should hang their heads in shame and their supporters should string them up from the lamposts in the high street.
-
How would they have managed that when KD didn't have a save to make until the second half, when he DID make 2 superb stops/saves when it was still 1-0 (and again with a min to go which could have made stoppage time hellish). we had just as many chances as Norwich throughout the game. So even if i cede to your logic, then we would have scored 2 or 3 ourselves. No?

So if you are a realist, why are you on here so often moaning about the club's league position? A win.... A defeat.... A draw? Its the same tired ramblings. Also, could I ask that if you are delighted by or enjoyed the win, that you perhaps make it sound like you actually mean it? Its a bit confusing to say that you did but then proceed to moan, criticise and discourage. Thanks
-
I take it you mean from the result, rather than your faint praise? Anyone would think you are actually slightly disappointed?
-
Just wondering why they should prove you wrong just because you ask nicely? Its not like you have not just admitted that you have given up on them. For the record, I hope they prove me right over the course of the league season (not just the 1st month)

Why do we always make such a poor start to the season?
thefuriousb replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
You only had to explain it as a result of the mistake in the first place!! When I first queried it with you, you became surly and intimidating. Typical behaviour of a school-yard bully. Clearly you emigrated as part of the braun drain. Obviously, being stood up to by a "snotty teenager" rankles with the school bully in you. I guess all that time in the ceelar would leave you with psychological scars and issues. Next time you wish to flex your muscles, just crack one off, eh! -

Hey thrush! You are quite right for once.... there is no need to thank you as your original statement is still wrong. If we are relegated, as you wish (you want to be proved right after all), then we will be in League 1 - the old division 3. Exeter are currently in League 2, which is the old Division 4! So when is 3 and 4 the same thing? as I said, not part of the brain drain then?!?! Its not me that still does not get it does it, huh?! Perhaps you would like to acknowledge you are wrong ...again. Don't apply to get on "Are you smarter than a 10 year old?" -

Oh believe me I had you sussed as a pr*ck from the very off. Now back to your cellar. -

"Aaaahhhh. Diddums is reverting to straight name-calling"..... Ring any bells? Am not sure what the premiership reference was all about either, other than it was a way of deflecting the fact that I had picked up on the utter ******** you had spouted about being in Div 3 next season? Get back to your cellar -

Wrong! even if your wish came true, we would only be in League 1 (old div 2). I assume you did not emigrate as part of the brain drain from these shores? -

Out of the 6 played, we have met just one league 2 side. Of the remaining 5, we have played 3 games against sides in the prem last year - we won 2 of those 3. I am just pointing out that if people want to start saying the season has been a disaster to date and already confirms us to certain doom, then certain facts would not bear this out. -

thefuriousb replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
That's 3 wins from 6 then. I will settle for a 1 in 2 win ratio over the course of the season. i think it is a little harsh of you to expect a better ratio, though somehow unsurprising. -
Daily Echo - LALLANA Fulham bid rejected...SPURS INTEREST TOO
thefuriousb replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
And for an Austin Delgado, we also have another Peter Crouch. Like everyone, not very transfer pays off. On the whole his record of allegedly personally signing all players, stands up to scrutiny Taibi, Poborsky, Veron, Forlan.... All signed by the most successfull manager of the last 20 years. -
Funny - cos Dion Dublin, who was keeping him out of the Villa side at the time, said only last week that Crouchie was no ready to pay regularly in the prem as he was very rough around the edges. Previous to Villa he had done well at CCC sides. His subsequent form for us was far greater than we could ever had expected. Marsden was a player that was a "Dave Jones man", much the same way as say.... Anthony Pulis is of his old man. Again, amusing that, eh?

I don't have a problem with Pearson. I felt he brought discipline & commitment, and carried himself well in the media I would, though, like to take you up on your assertion that if he gets Leicester promoted then he is "above average". Its not like he is in charge of MK Dons, Brighton, Oldham (whose fans' expectations are no higher than seeing if they can make the play offs). Unlike Leeds & Leicester, whose fans would see the play offs as disappointing. Gaining promotion to the CCC does not make you that. Luggy has done that trick numerous times, and whilst he has, I wouldn't call him "above average" - decent bloke though he is.
