Too many consortiums for Mr Fry (and us)?
thefuriousb replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
I still don't see how this is reason enough for a consortium who is meant to be serious to be put off. Afterall, no soon as you rid the club of the obstacle to investment, then 34 consortia declare an interest in saving the club/taking the club forward. As I said previously, may be they don't have the fight, something they seem to share with the players? Push the tyre kickers to the side, slap the wad on the table, ask "how you like them apples?!" and talk business. -

By having to compete with other interested parties? Some have been slating Fry for not seeing enough of the bids with such little time to deal with. Now he apparently sees as many as he can, he is putting off "decent people"? We have a side that does not seem to have the fight, now we have prospective bidders with the same qualities. -

If they are not interested anymore, does this mean that one or more of the 34 interested parties are more suitable to the administrator (the administrator being the one that they must impress most now we are at the disposal of our creditors)? Your fears, I feel, were perhaps a tad idealistic and unrealistic - whilst well meant. -
How did Dos Santos, Lupoli, Harewood fare this afternoon for Saints?

He is/was a photocopier salesman, right? Not a photocopier repair man in a porno. I think on this basis, we can assume that the ego is far larger :-) -
Too many cooks now as opposed to co*ks?

Investors unlikely to be put off by passion
thefuriousb replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Saints
So after one defeat those that came out to show their passion and help out the club in its hour of need, aren't that bothered afterall about the club's future? -
I thought the whispers that there are between 15 and 19 interested parties vindicated your argument that admin was the way forward. Now, because of admin, it is Aviva that can decide our fate? So admin could in fact mean that no buyer is able to save the club because Aviva hold all 4 aces? I am not seeking to pick an argument. I am just seeking clarification as to what benefit admin gives the club if no amount of interest, genuine or otherwise, relies on te note holder on SMS?

Not sure if the G20 decison to crack down on tax havens will adversely affect a Gibraltarian-based bid? Would just be typical, mind. -

As a "Gibraltarian", I may just be obliged to change my monicker and my avatar if this turns out to be the right deal for the club. BTW, it is not actually a country by a British overseas territory. ;-) I'm still waiting for full UEFA recognition and may yet get international recognition (seeing as Burley continues to overlook me) -
He really should know by now when to say nothing. Heck, maintain a "dignified silence" if he wants to dress it up to his advantage.

Bucket collections may raise vital revenue in keeping the club going longer than the initial 24 days the administrators gave. We still have to get beyond April. Who knows.... it may help over the summer when the income streams are at their lowest. If the sticky at the top of the page can raise quarter mil for a fans-run club, then could it be better pledged in the more immediate term?
-
Colin is a real football person. He was one of the teachers at my college many moons ago. A thoroughly decent and great bloke he was then. Its great that the turnabout in our clubs' respective fortunes has not changed him (those that are the worst are those that do not remember Gregory/Venables)
-
I was just wondering if there is something the fans can do that will really help out the football club at this time. The thread (sticky) about those willing to contribute money for a share in a fans-owned club is very admirable (and is applauded), but given the nature of our predicament, I am not sure we have the time for that to work within 24 days. Also, it gives those that may not be able to "afford" to pledge significant amounts to the cause/appeal? Could we instead set up a fighting fund to enable the football club to run day to day beyond the end of April, beyond the rest of the season, possibly over the summer (when revenu streams are negligible) in order to buy more time in finding a long-term investor? Is this suggestion equally frought, equally difficult to sort out in time? Is it too late to organise bucket collections for the home game tomorrow?

if the fa dont give us a 10 point hit...
thefuriousb replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
That's pretty much the sub-text of my question.... The fact that morally they too are in a difficult position, given that they sponsor the PL. The PL is the reason why many clubs outside (and inside) of it are not operating within their means and are chasing a dream As for them wanting to ensure a buyer comes forward, then should they not have considered that when they refused to effectively help the company do this? -

What does the point deduction have to do with Barclays? Any points deduction only affects football people, be that Saints or other clubs and their supporteres who may feel hard done by. -
And if that is so, any legal challenge by other clubs would surely be a waste of money that they don't really have? If the league has no legal recourse as their rules have not been broken, then I can't see how anyone else can? Then again, the PL ruled that West Ham hadn't either yet the Court of Arbitration have ruled otherwise on a decison where Sheff Utd had no legal right of challenge (PL rules state you can't challenge the ruling of an independent enquiry. If you do you must resign your position in the PL). So go figure!

You could have simply sent FF a PM?

So SLH has not applied to go into administration (not at 7.00am when the announcement was due)?

I see no evidence to the contrary. And thanks for stooping to my level, or should I pat myself on the back for stooping down to yours to begin with?

So the fact that Wilde has "taken a back seat twice" suggests what, you tool? The fact that Crouch stormed out of the AGM, but did stop to give rather cringe-worthy interviews to the local media, suggests what??? The fact that Lowe slid back under the door in the summer together with that happy to let things lie Michael Wilde siggests what?? Let me tell you, shall I? It suggests that none one of them give a toss about what I good for the club and its supporters, but what is only best for their own egos!
