By far the worse derby match I have seen both on and off the pitch, and that includes when we lost 4-1 at home. Stadium layout clearly doesn’t work and that proves it. Ironically the last game we had with the old layout (West Brom) was by far the best atmosphere I have seen generated at SMS. The bubble completely ruins the game, just more overkill from the state. Fortunately we aren’t going up and costing of policing such overkill won’t be allowed in the seasons to come. Utter shite, no different to playing Blackburn or Preston. Ive read through all 33 pages on here, best point I’ve seen made was the link to Russel Martin. Yes, he is utter shite but he had a style and had his side implementing it on day 1 at Sheffield Wed. Still is utter wank, 7 games in and no clear tactic at all, monotone as fuck and looking out of his depth. Put it this way, I’d swap him for the man the other side of the M27, but he wouldn’t come. That’s where we are now.

My first memory of this lot is as a 4 year old boy, innocently wearing saints shorts, and having a grown Pompey fan shout abuse at me. My first Saints Pompey game they abused the minutes silence for Mr Southampton before a ball was kicked. My first trip to Fratton in 2011 saw a coin whistle past my temple when they equalised late on. This lot are the pits. We have to win, and win well.

I still think the squad is too big and difficult to manage for Still based on numbers. I would certainly like to see Edozie and Aribo leave in the coming days. It is also a shame we have so many loans out, it would be great to have shifted them completely. What I do like is the fact we have not used the loan market that much for players in. We were handicapped a lot last summer by being forced to make THB perm and then anofher big outlay on Downes just to get back to where we were when we beat Leeds.,

Bazunu roeserlev. Jack. Thb Manning Downes. Charles dibling Fernandes Robinson Stewart That is our best team for me by a clear distance and what I would play. Keep that as a starting 11 and it’s HMS piss the league.
-
Don’t forget the not playing basketball in his own penalty box. That’s another tick in favour of replacing Sugawara.
-
Best thing about this is Sugawara won’t be used anymore. One of the worse I’ve seen in years. 94 games for Brentford in the Prem, looks a good option to me.
-
Positives and negatives for Still here. He’s realised Downs and Sugawara are useless, but he’s persisting with Arma as a lone striker and not playing Manning. Assume Stewart is injured again as opposed to an illness?
-
You must be on the wind up? It was a pathetic miss. In fact, he was so inept he didn’t even miss it. Between you defending Downes there and someone else questioning why fans don’t rate Sugawara I think some Saints fans have had too much sun.

Well more entertainment in 1 game than the entirety of last season, a great end result and nice to see some decent celebrations at St Mary’s coming from us for a change. I’d happily win the league and refuse the prize of Premier league football. I am not a fan of 3 at the back, especially at home to inferior opposition, also my understanding of this system is the fullbacks provide width and overlap etc. With the exception of Manning they didn’t, Sugawara is a complete joke, and always has been. Massive moment from Baz at 0-1 and nice to see some redemption for Stephens, credit to Still who wasn’t afraid to make changes and showed adaptability.

No chance of getting one as a Pompey fan unless you’ve had purchase history.

I’ve had a season ticket for years but due to work need to look more at the membership option this year. If I was to go down the route of a member should that pretty much guarantee a ticket for the home games I am available for?

Saints 1-2 Arsenal - Thank F**k it’s All Over Thread
Thripp87 replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
So the worse season we’ve ever endured is finally coming to an end. For those of you still attending, please, please please don’t embarrass us further by applauding the cretins on a lap of honour. The stadium needs to be empty for it, and better still the players should be getting some serious abuse. As should Sport Republic. On that subject, when is the next fan forum? -
You must be on the wind up? That side is a mid table Championship side at best. Armstrong already being benched by West Brom is a case in point. What exactly are you basing this assumption on? Birmingham who have just been promoted into the Chanpionship would have a better starting 11 by the time they have spent their funds.
-
All this talk about Dyche is interesting. If we had gone for him as the Ralph replacement when he was available we wouldn’t have had either of the 2 Premier league relegations of the last 3 seasons. Any Saints fan who thinks they can turn their nose up at him is as deluded as the weirdos clapping the players at full time yesterday.

Can’t wait to see the positive brigade renewing their early birds, then crying on here when it’s £5 a kid in February.
-
I guess you’re the sort of individual who thinks he has had his say by mildly booing. That will tell them! You probably even spend extra every week in the new Northam bar, or better still take up an exciting discount on the new third strip. it is not ridiculous to expect the club to come out and offer the fans a gesture in light of the unprecedented shitness the club/business has offered its customers this season. 9 points in April and people think it’s ridiculous to ask for some sort of acknowledgement. Silence is deafening.
-
Do a gesture then and donate 10% of their wages to the fans. My self esteem is not good watching them every week.
-
I state this point genuinely. Are fans entitled to any sort of refund under consumer rights acts for this season? This is not unprecedented, indeed Sunderland fans were offered a refund in the good old days when we beat them 8-0. Out of all the issues I have with SFC this season the silence and treatment of the fans who continue to pay hard earned cash to watch SFC is the biggest insult. Say we have 18,000 season ticket holders paying £600 on average, surely the club should be looking to get some goodwill back and refunding 50%, an approximate cost of £5.5m. To ignore this an say nothing is an absolute disgrace, I can’t wait to see them all face the music at the fans forum. £5.5m is absolutely nothing for a club due over £100m for failing in the Premier League. On that particular subject if I was the chairman of the Premier League I would be bringing in a minimum standard moving forward that has to be met to qualify in the future, much in the same way a boxer doesn’t get their purse for abject failure.
-
How can anyone have sympathy with that crock of shit who are a disgrace to the shirt? They should be embarrassed to even show their faces around the city, 9 points in April ffs, and you have sympathy for them. Why? I have sympathy for the fans that turn up every week and contribute to their primadonna lifestyle and latest tattoo.
-
Came across well to me. If we still had him we would be better off points wise and in a better place to come back up.
-
So I’ve scanned through the last 6 pages and I haven’t actually seen Rasmus specifically be called out yet. This is the man who is most accountable, a man who goes on record saying he appoints failed managers because they have learned by their previous mistakes. Well this utter incompetent clown hasn’t. Dragon has actually put up some decent money, it’s just been completely wasted by this loser Rasmus, someone who clearly doesn’t learn from his own mistakes. The only thing I am excited to see Saints related now until the end of the season is him getting questioned at the fans forum. Talking of the fans…..why are 30,000 still turning up every week? Why do people still buy crap drinks at that shit bar with live music they created, why don’t the fans actually do something productive, have a pop instead of minor booing and stop putting money into the failure that is SFC. Until that happens nothing will change. i told Talk Sport in October we wouldn’t get to 11 points, we won’t get off 9.
-
Well I told the nation on Talk Sport in October we wouldn’t reach 11 points. Utterly pathetic. Also, I keep hearing how the step up is so big between the Premier League and the EFL, utter nonsense. If you get your house in order you can compete well, look at Brighton, Bournemouth, Fulham, Brentford and Forest in recent years. The issue isn’t money either, Dragon has spent money and written the cheques, the issue is the money was being spent by Rasmus and Martin, who seemingly just wanted to get his mates back on board.
-
Do we still parade the Pride of the South banner in the Northam wall? That will look class when Bournemouth hit us for 9 in a few weeks time.
-
Would never consider attending this at 7pm Sunday, probably won’t even watch it with the darts on. The season is already over so who really cares?
