The Southampton accent confuses me - I can recognise it when I hear it but that's quite rare nowadays as it always seemed to belong to older family members. Is it disappearing? If so, is there now a new So'ton accent?
In 1948 we were 8 points clear with seven games remaining (2 pts for a win back then) - we won one, drew two and lost four missing out on promotion by one point. Now that's choking it.
I bought four together in Block 13 on Saturday- there were plenty left there; it's the corner between the Chapel and Itchen stands, I expect that they have just opened it up. There were only a few singles available in the Kingsland and Chapel.
Radio Solent interviewed an expert in these matters this afternoon and I believe he said Pompey were due to pay £2m to the administrators in April - under the present circumstances he suspected that they would have to pay this (and their general running costs) out of their own income; he thought that if they failed to pay then they would be in serious trouble.
