  1. Out of interest who are the top 3 academies in the country. Not based on the current crop but over a period of say 10 years? Ie consistency
  2. Happy that we get some information from him. I personally think this is the clubs way of keeping the fans informed of what is going without the need to give statements / to the press. Gives them a degree of deniability if things change.
  3. More worryingly it's now 1 goal from open play in the last 8 competitive home games
  4. Usual suspects to the math threads incoming.
  5. Does the volume button on your laptop not work if you do t like the noise?
  6. I tend to agree whilst both a decent defenders on the ground they have the presence of a penguin in the air. We looked rally susceptible to high balls / crosses into the box. In fact I nearly remember us winning a high ball in the area all afternoon. A massive worry for me against physical teams.
  7. This may be a little simplistic but my view is that if I were to buy the club why would even consider using personal wealth to fund the purchase. Assuming the debt to buy the club is at 210million at circa 4% Interest then the payment would be £8m per annum. Now the 210 mil cash / capital that he doesn't need to tie up in the purchase can be invested with a likely return of more than 4%. Assuming he believes he has has the business know how &contacts to access to chinese markets to develop the business its then its easy to see a profit growth to cover the debt in a fairly relatively short amount of time. Hence why owners would typically finance the purchase of clubs rather than commit personal wealth. So if we assume he pumps in £8mill per year to cover the cost of the debt then the only question we really need to ask is does he have the business acumen to develop p&l of Southampton over a period of time. Looking at the evidence he has built his own wealth whereas Kat inherited it so I would say we are in a better place now she has sold if as she says he holds the same values.
  8. Looks like exactly what we need. Yes he gave the ball away but never in dangerous defensive positions and looks like a player in the in the bertrand / Romeo mound. I.e. Clearly has talent but needs a decent run of games to get his sharpness which you don't get at a big club. Half a season of back to back games ans I think he will be a big player for us.
  9. Thats great ploy but dont you think that goes up in smoke (pardon the pun) the moment we pick up the phone and ask someone "how much does xxxx cost?"
  10. Interestingly according to RAWK saints are now struggling financially and therefore will have no choice but to sell. Also they seem to suggest we have acted unprofessionally citing the fact that we have accused him of refusing to train and then leaking the fact / fining him for it. Forgive me if I'm off the pace but did we not tell him to train on his own because he admitted he was unavailable to play because he wasn't he want mentally prepared? Also where have all our financial problem come from, did i miss that too? These scousers seem to be making shyte up trying to convince themselves that we will sell. Bizarre!
  11. Well I've seen him play lots and actually think he is as good as the hype. Game of opinions clearly and mine is that I think you are wrong
  12. You answered the question yourself, he has a contract and as such should honour it unless we choose to release him from it.
  13. First time I have ever heard that rule. Sounds like horse shyte to me.
  14. And of course if he was signing for them he would be an awesome signing right?
  15. Lets hope so eh
  16. Possibly but seems we are fiddling whilst Rome burns.
  17. Really its blatantly obvious that the club are treading water whilst trying to sell the club. Its the only reason we havent spent any money as a large commitment could effect the selling price. The sooner the club is sold the better IMO so we can get back to running the club based on a forward looking plan. I just cant fathom any reason why we wouldnt have invested in the squad this summer as there is clearly cash to spend due to the TV money.
  18. When was the last time saints scored at home? It will be a pub quiz question sooon ffs.
  19. agree 100%. Its just a case of whether they want the cash now or risk it being less next year.
  20. Clubs around us seem to be investing in their squads whilst we seem happy with what we have. Without Vvd or a significant replacement I think 12-14th is realistic. I don't really understand why we aren't strengthening in areas that are in need of better players that we can all see. I can only assume it's due to the potential sale of the club
  21. still an utter ****flap i see
  22. Maybe we have done all we are going to do. 1 in 1 out.
  23. Gareth rogers did not lead the club despite his CEO title. HTH
