Hmm that's not my experience. I've spoken to people who were very positive but are confused by our transfer policy and don't know why we haven't signed more
Oh possibly but clearly no way we are signing a load of those players wo have been linked. The best of the championship was always going to be the most realistic options.
I didn't say I had a problem with the policy, just that that is clearly what we are going for and IMO it is more of a risk than other ways of doing it, though possibly with a greater chance of it coming off.
I think it goes to prove that all this talk of fancy big name wingers is just that- talk. Our business is to sign promising championship players and hoping that they fulfil their potential. Get in a couple of CBs and we will see how it goes.
I don't know why skates cannot understand that it is possible to be very interested in your own club but also be interested in the car crash down the road. Having this thread does not mean we totally ignore our own club, it's just that both are very interesting for different reasons.
Whilst I do agree with you, I am confused by your stance on this. You said yourself that you are surprised by our lack of transfer dealings recently and that this window has been a wake up call. Do you not feel slightly negative feelings yourself? Not that I'm defending Alpine or anything.
Quite possible that the team could surprise us and do well. That's what it would be though with unproven players and it would surprise all the pundits and bookies as well.
I have to admit I have been surprised. I was very optimistic after the signing of Jay Rod and Davis. Clyne too I felt was a decent addition. Seeing some of our rivals strengthening though whilst we still have glaring holes in our team has turned me back into being a pessimist sadly. I think that even with a few additions before the end of the window, we may struggle this season and could well get relegated which would be a damn shame considering how hard we have worked to get back .
