Exactly! Some find it offensive to even entertain a possibility that something could occur. If we dealt purely in facts then there would be no point in this forum!

That's true but that might be quite difficult to do.It is often too difficult to name sources.

I agree that Cortese working to make us successful is a good thing (albeit with the reservations that many have which have been discussed at length.) Equally though I'm not going to pretend that the club will be destroyed should Cortese not be involved any more. I mean Cortese isn't the only person who could acheive results with saints. Financially and in terms of potential we are probably the most attractive club in the football league (and possibly the Premiership) certainly in terms of value for money. It is quite possible that if the club is sold we could find us in an equally strong (or maybe even stronger!) position. Having said that, my gut feeling is that the best thing for the club is for Cortese to remain and maybe learn a little humility.

Seriously Minty you should post more often. To dismiss completely or totally believe this rumour is the wrong stance to take.

How do you know that? Unless you know the people involved personally how can you suggest that their information is invented because they are bitter? I would be pretty insulted by that viewpoint if I was one of the ones you refer to.

Duncan was one example. There are people who talk to others with close connections to the club you know. I think at the very least it deserves discussion (and others have agreed) with the caveat that it could of course not be true.

Thanks for that post and it certainly adds something because you have actually met the chairman recently. There are a lot of good qualities which Cortese brings to the club and what I hope is that we aren't so single minded that we alienate some people connected to the club. I hope there is some sort of balance.

Thing is though Cortese can say it is not for sale but the likelihood is that it won't be up to him. I mean obviously it could all be made up but there is the POSSIBILITY that there is some basis in fact. I mean Cortese is hardly likely to come out and say 'yes the club is for sale,' especially if he was in dispute with the Liebherrs as leftback claimed. I do think that what leftback said was extremely interesting, especially considering he got stuff right in the past. Lets hope that if this does come to pass that the club stays in good hands and stays financially healthy.

Yeah I bet the reporter just invented it because he hates Southampton.Of course it could be b*llocks but I think it warrants discussion, simply because it has cropped up so often.

This has been rumbling for ages. Duncan has actually been talking about it since the summer. Of course everyone will dismiss it but I think at the very least it could be a case of the Liebherr's wanting to move on. Why else would Cortese have mentioned the fact that he would be prepared to bring someone else in if the Liebherrs wanted to sell?

Do you understand what 'educate' means? You have never heard anything by Steely Dan and so by listening to them you will be educated in their style of music. Steely Dan are often referred to by critics as a 'genre unto themselves' and so yes I think you would be better off following a little education in Steely Dan and their music.
