Then why not just pack your team with the biggest blokes you can find and injure the opposition quarterback every game? Hate the stop start nature of it as well and all the commercial breaks. Makes it hard to get excited. I imagine it would be slightly better if you were actually at a game.

Although clearly they are just running into him half the time to take him out. Makes it a bit of a pointless game if you can just go around injuring the person who is any good. Can you get sent off or something? Or penalty touchdown or something?

Watching my first ever american football game. Question: Why are the saints players allowed to get away with tw*tting Brett Favre at every opportunity? What has that got to do with the skill of playing the game? If Favre is injured and the saints win isn't that similar to someone breaking Lambert's leg to beat Southamtpon?

Duncan have you managed to look back at this thread yet? It's just that you appear to have hinted at knowing something but you've then disappeared without elaborating.

It's why I don't understand the signing of Otsemebor. Surely if he is just a stop gap then it's a bit of a risk if he turns out to be pants. I would have preferred us to go for someone proven (Ifill?) which would give them chance to familiarise themselve for next season.

I was speculating more on who Pardew would be playing next year. My main problem with Morgan is that he is too inconsistent. Time is on his side though but he has a tendency to be anonymous at times. I think Hammond will definitely be playing for us next season, though I accept what you say. Maybe a CM pairing of Stock and Schneiderlin would be better? I'm sure we will see. I don't rate James at all however. You say a midfielder is a must but who else would you sign as an extra? I'm struggling to think of any other position where we could sign anyone apart from maybe a pacy striker?

Do you mean that you think players did not want to come here? Seems that Seaborne was first choice so not sure how true that is. I suppose we shall see in the summer where Pardew thinks we need strengthening.

Fair enough. I see your point. I still think there are a few areas which need strengthening. Our midfield is definitely one of them and we need to decide on our first choice wide players and play them every week.
