  1. Bournemouth Wolves Palace Brentford One of those 4 is my bet.
  2. That's true but there's also a fair percentage of them saying we are mad to sign someone recovering from such an awful injury.
  3. TBF one of the more bizarre actions of managers from last year was not starting Sulemana in every game he was fit.
  4. If he gets a loan to Everton then it's a win win from his perspective. Either he keeps them up and gets to stay in the prem permanently, or they get relegated and he can come back here if we did get promoted. Doesn't exactly endear him to Saints fans though and I expect he's played his last game for us either way.
  5. I expect behind the scenes he's done something like refuse to play. I found it really odd when The Athletic released an article at the beginning of the summer and suggested he would be loaned out. IMO he's probably said something like the Championship is beneath him and he isn't playing.
  6. You would think he is almost certainly our Adams replacement rather than being signed in addition to him.
  7. We would be mad to let him go out on loan.
  8. I think the question we should be asking is why our top target is someone with a horrendous injury , a patchy injury record overall and someone who hasn't played a competitive game in over six months.
  9. So we'd be left with a new striker who has been out with a long term injury, a youth player and a player who isn't ready yet but should be given an opportunity? It doesn't strike me as a recipe for promotion.
  10. Equally though, we don't have the time to see if he comes good. He needs to make a significant contribution now.
  11. We should have either recognised that Adams was likely to go and signed him in advance or considered signing him with Adams. Losing out on him and strengthening a rival is a fuck up.
  12. If we sign someone better then it won't be an issue will it.
  13. You were saying earlier in the summer that we were looking to get someone better than Piroe. That still the case?
  14. The Athletic are reporting apparently that we are about to sell Adams and a bid may have already gone in for Stewart.
  15. I'm not sure I said he was? This is a thread to talk about transfers and the imminent sale of our only effective striker and the possible purchase of a new striker with an uncertain injury record who hasn't played since January with an injury that has ended many careers seems like a reasonable time to bring it up.
  16. Over the season he will probably get a decent amount of game time if he's here. Would be good to have an alternative to this bloke (especially because he is injured) who actually looks like he might score a goal or two.
  17. To put it bluntly, I'd much rather have had Piroe. We fucked up not getting him.
  18. Looks like Adams off and Ross Stewart in. Huge risk this and my only hope is that he is less injured than first reported and back sooner than expected. If this is our new forward to lead the line then we are really going to have a big hole over the next month or two.
  19. Agreed. We are probably a couple of signings away from that as it is. If we are going to accept more first team departures, then we would need to replace them as well.
  20. And the 6 out? KWP Sulemana Adams Onuachu McCarthy Djenepo Mara?
  21. Agreed that would be the perfect outcome. I'm assuming we sell our remaining 4 prem quality players so don't want to seriously entertain the possibility of keeping Che but it really would make us strong. Bring Wood in and with our existing midfield options we will be looking very good even if we lose Sulemana, KWP and ABK.
  22. Even I would be praising the club hierarchy for a move like that. Would instantly improve our promotion chances which is not something you can say for all of our transfer dealings this summer.
  23. They aren't though. We shouldn't be signing someone bang average. The club have been telling us all summer how have been preparing for player sales and they've had months to scope out options for a striker. There's absolutely no excuse for not getting one in who is fit and who can fit our system. Unless Stewart is much closer to fitness than has been reported, It's simply not acceptable if Adams leaves at this point to bring Stewart in and then act like there was no alternative.
  24. So would I but I'd rather not take the risk if we don't have to do so and thankfully those aren't the only two choices.
  25. Which is why we should replace him with someone as decent as possible who can play for us now.
