I'm not sure why Roberts is underwhelming. Sunderland fans on their forum are saying he's their best player.

Wood and THB would give us incredible strength in depth. If we get a decent winger the same will be true for midfield. The only real weak link then will be attack where we are very light. Another attacker almost guaranteed after Stewart imo.

That and he wants to be in the Premier league. Clearly no one wanted to pay what we wanted for him so we said we would let him go if he signed a new deal with us. Expect he will go elsewhere next year whatever happens.

Clearly he was being smart and protecting the player if he needed to be reintegrated for whatever reason. The fact he was training separately from the group and was away from the first team means he made his feelings very clear IMO.

Not sure about that one. The mad Welshman Nate dog was on the EFL podcast this morning talking about our January deadline day deals for Onuachu and Sulemana and how we had to quickly get them to Paris for their medicals on deadline day. I assume the same thing would happen in this instance if we wanted someone from abroad.
