It's not that surprising when not an awful lot changes on a daily basis. It's more of a psychpgical thing to remind people to follow the rules and provide encouragement and on that basis it's working well even with the terrible news of Boris. I do wish the majority of journalists would ask better questions though.
-
I've got a friend who knows a nurse where Boris is and is claiming he's on a ventilator and prognosis not good looking at his lungs but then loads of journalists saying he's not on a ventilator and is conscious so christ knows what the truth is. Really hope he's alright though, as the figurehead of the country it's an important symbol if nothing else.

Christ. Boris in ICU.

I was startled to the extent that many Chinese people put the state before themselves when i went there. I imagine that for some if Xi said it was for the good of the nation many of them would go along with it. That might change if they do get heavily boycotted.
-
I would expect every aspect of China's influence on these shores to be up for discussion after this.
-
I think China are uniquely culpable for parts of this and indeed there are particularly egregious examples of authoritarianism that the west have turned a blind eye to due to their financial muscle and clout. I will be expecting a concerted and organised effort to remove them from our supply chains after this and I woild hope that other countries follow suit. We should be putting intense political pressure on morally bankrupt organisations like Google, Hollywood, Disney, and Apple and any number of less high profile organisations to leave China as soon as possible and to stop allowing the Chinese Market to influence their decisions. Enough is enough.

It's a very real problem that we have become so reliant on China. Hopefully this crisis will permenently change things. I know I woild be prepared to pay more if it meant we boycotted that terrible and irresponsible regime.

I reckon someone like boufal would be decent.
-
You'd be better off using that for garden waste now the council have stopped collecting.
-
Woild be pretty controversial to relegate Bournemouth and villa by a point or goal difference based on their current position. Villa could argue that the only reason they are in the relegation zone is because they had a game rearranged because they got to the league Cup final.

The only image I had was Marvin the android from hitchhikers guide blowing a fuse.

MLG would orgasm.

Also the players will still be required to follow behaviour guidelines, diet, fitness levels etc and officially they are still required to be fit for the resumption of the Premier league which hasn't officially been cancelled yet beyond April. If you furlough the players the clubs won't be able to enforce any of that stuff for a minimum of three weeks. The players should definitely volunteer a wage cut though.
-
Tbf if the players are furloughed they wouldn't keep their incomes.

It's obviously his view that the economic measures required to stop this will result in higher numbers of young people dead eventually. Imo that's a difficult thing to argue since we don't actually know what will happen with complete certainty and it raises a question about how many real young people should be permitted to die now to prevent higher numbers of potential deaths in the future. Its a view I disagree with but it's not really how you are attempting to portray it.
-
It's a tory conspiracy because they want people to die.
-
In fairness its a more nuanced view than simply saying he supports eugenics. I don't actually agree with him by the way but his view seems to be that the economic costs will cause loss of life and that if it's a choice between a wrecked economy and loss of life or the deaths of largely elderly people then he would prefer the latter rather than the former. Lots of people hold that view incidentally.
-
Would only take one player or support staff to show symptoms and the whole thing would go down in flames. I suppose it very much depends what the situation is by then.
-
Like I said, good to hear the vast majority of police are doing what is needed at the moment. The whole policing of language stuff probably comes from superiors anyway rather than the average policeman.
-
I'd rather all of them were out keeping order, preventing burglaries (like the two that targeted empty childcare settings in Southampton last week for example.) etc. We don't need tweets policed at the moment or ever really.
-
I have but more because I think it would provide a good distraction.
-
That may very well be true. Its still a total waste of time wherever it comes from and whoever is telling them to do it.
-
Hopefully you're right but they do say in the video that they will investigate every report of hate crime even if you don't believe its a crime. I'd rather they stopped all this nonsense talk and did what they should be doing and I'm sure most police officers are.

I'd rather the hurty words team diverted all their energy into things that will combat the virus.
