  1. The company I work with is 90% female, pretty sure I have an adequate grasp of this issue thanks. Thank goodness that the vast majority are how I have characterised them and not like yourself. Its why the vast majority of women in this country do not describe themselves as feminist because they realise it is about man hating and ultimately being unhappy and alone. As for mansplaining, a bigger load of b*llocks has never been invented. It's also very sexist as shown below.
  2. Did you meet him?
  3. How utterly demented. Why are salary differences being published for different people doing completely different jobs? The whole thing is mental.
  4. Roger Beeks, Badboysaint, Monty's turban, Benthelegend and saintlee
  5. Absolutely. What an odious excuse for a human being.
  6. That's the key point.
  7. Surely not? A middle class student socialist possessing an unrealistically idealised view of the world along with a double standard and a bit of hypocrisy thrown in? I don't believe people like that exist!
  8. Exactly. I've seen a hell of a lot more vitriol thrown at senior members of the Tory party or just regular Tory voters. I don't buy that it's just Corbyn that is subjected to hate.
  9. I think it's more just a hatred of the other side and just shows how polarised politics has become. You can see hatred on twitter and Facebook against May, the Tories, the Greens, so called "Blairites" etc etc. I don't think corbyn is hated any more than most from that lot. It does suit a narrative to think that Corbyn gets more hate though. In my experience it's mostly ridicule.
  10. It's basically a different sport. No problem at all with it but it's a bit cringe when they have the men's and womens football captains together in adverts as if they are in some way comparable.
  11. Fwiw I've been told by someone high up at the Echo that we want Graham Potter. Personally I'd give it to Hughes if he keeps us up as he will have earnt it.
  12. Thanks for that. Very interesting initiatives and possibly some things that other western Europeans countries may have to adopt in time. I definitely think we have to be more forceful about standing up for our values in a similar manner. Parallel societies are simply a bad idea and Foster mistrust on both sides. I've previously advocated for greater surveillance of mosques and an examination of ones that have been proven to harbour and encourage terrorists. Maajid Nawaz suggested changing the prevent strategy to the engage strategy and supporting moderate Muslims like himself to a greater degree which is something that I wholeheartedly support- although the problem there is that whatever the government initiative is called it would be dismissed by some Muslim factions who will aim refuse to engage to combat extremism from their community. I agree with your wider point that we have to firstly accept the problem of a lack of integration from a large number of the Islamic community and the come up with a firm strategy to deal with the problem that doesn't lead to racist attacks but which isn't afraid of tackling the problem for fear of being labelled a racist. I think thats an action that moderate Muslims, individuals of other faiths and the average citizen of the UK and Europe would be incredibly supportive of.
  13. Christ. I get we should be humble, but self mutilation is a bit far.
  14. We just have to hope the tories don't become so unpopular that Corbynites get in by default. What a depressing state politics is in.
  15. There's idiots in every country. I can't say we are much better or worse than loads of countries. Fact of life unfortunately.
  16. The vast majority of women are decent, hardworking people who don't want to get involved with any of this rubbish. They are fully aware of how odious third wave feminism is and they want nothing to do with it. I support those women who just want to get on and live their lives without manufacturing outrage or finding sexual discrimination where there is none.
  17. The fact its so opaque is worrying enough. Even more so given the reports we have seen whilst this takeover was completing and the fact the league tried to block it and subsequently changed their rules. There's enough there to be concerned.
  18. I think it's fair to say that whatever the situation we are in our worst position both financially and on the pitch since promotion. Worrying.
  19. So Kat has basically loaded us with 210 million pounds of debt. What a way to treat her father's legacy. May be trouble ahead.
  20. Well I'm not sure how a wage rise in the caring professions would work given its either funded by the government who certainly wouldn't be paying more or by parents and guardians of either elderly people or children. My extensive experience in that area tells me there would be a giant outcry from these two groups if they were asked to pay more even if it were made clear it was for a wage rise. Typically, the bosses in these care companies would love to pay more to all their stuff but they simply wouldn't be financially viable.
  21. You would think so but the impression from the club over the past two seasons is they have been less invested on what is going on with the first team and have focused a lot on side projects. I don't think this will have an impact but it could be another example of this.
  22. Well if the issue is that people who work on the tills should be paid for their work then maybe there is a case for that but as you say neither of us know the specifics. It's certainly not anything to do with gender. As long as the opportunity is there for women to work in the warehouse for the same amount as other warehouse workers then I don't see any problem, just as there is no problem if a man chooses to accept the lower paid position working on the tills- as many do. Forcing supermarkets to pay till workers more money simply because more women have freely decided to work on tills is not the right thing to do.
  23. It'd fine asong as it's kept separate from the men's team and no focus is taken from the men. It's essentially a different sport anyway.
  24. I don't think anyone has suggested that religions will disappear, which is why the best strategy is to call for an Islamic reformation similar to one's that other religions went through ages ago. The problem as I stated earlier is that there is great opposition to Muslim reformists from their fellow Muslims. Reformists need to be supported and extremists elements need to be vocally opposed by wider secular society but also from within the religion itself. To pretend that the extremist elements have "nothing to do with Islam" is entirely false and a number of Muslims would laugh at such an incorrect statement
  25. Well that's a separate issue isn't it. If women are actively being prevented from accessing warehouse jobs then I agree there is a problem there and it's illegal.
