You give them a big bonus if we stay up and an easy way to leave if we go down...
-
So then. A world record fee for a defender and best player and it looks like all we will have to show for it is a big fee for a reserve striker with an underwhelming scoring record whose friends with a manager that is universally agreed to be poor and who has a record low win rate for us. Not really sure where to start with that other than to shake my head and wonder how badly we had to mess up over the last two seasons to get ourselves in this absolute mess.
-
You can't really say it isn't warranted though. If that occurs then the club have really taken us for mugs.
-
Unfortunately this was our backup plan after Walcott. Shades of last year when people couldn't believe we didn't sign a Fonte replacement.
-
Not long to go now. If the window closes and this is the extent of our dealings then its 100% Reed out for me.
-
Christ now I'm genuinely starting to think we won't be getting anyone else in. There should be protests tonight against the board if this is true. Absolutely disgraceful January window.
-
Well so far we have sports journalists saying it's off versus and anonymous Web poster telling us it's on. You can't really blame people for trusting the words of journalists in that scenario- even if we end up signing him later.

Is there anyone on here who wanted Puel out who now regrets it??

I regret that the club pulled the trigger before confirming their first choice of tuchel or someone of similar quality. No problem with the sacking itself. Not sure why this is being brought up again. -
With promes it's a 7. We may get a lesser alternative and that would probably be 5 or 6 depending on who it is. Without promes or a replacement it's a 2...
-
You can if they've run out of time to get a replacement.
-
You have to laugh if true. Classic saints. My prediction from earlier about an inferior player will come true in my opinion.

Rule 1.

I had an enjoyable time even when we were bumbling around near the bottom. The last day escape against Sheffield United was a brilliant occasion. Obviously its good to see saints going on epic runs of wins but equally good is wheb you're not playing that great and you suddenly get some great performances to give you a bit of hope like 6-1 or whatever it was away to wolves.

Because for many people, supporting saints is about having a few beers with your mates and going round the country to watch a bit of football. I can understand that attitude even if I don't entirely agree. I'd like to see us stay up like anyone else but some of the best times supporting saints have been in the championship. Had some absolutely amazing away games that were less corporate and less designed for the modern football fan and thus much more enjoyable. Milwall, forest, Bristol rovers, Coventry, Birmingham, Wigan to name a few.

If We do get relegated, more than anything else I'll be looking forward to see how the club pr machine spins it. Also interesting to see if we bin off Les and Co. I can't imagine Ralph will be having much success selling the merits of a championship club to China...

A draw is absolutely nailed on tonight for me. We will also bring at least one player in but it probably won't be promes, probably someone less impressive. It's the Southampton way...
-
I reckon with that line from the echo we will get a more underwhelming signing from elsewhere. I don't believe the club would dare not sign anyone else, they know what the reaction will be if they did that.

Important midweek matches starts tonight...

Bit of a tall order for us to win two in a row after so long without winning. -
Similar price to Walcott then. I wonder if we will increase that now or not? You would think they would have to if they want to keep some credibility and not push the fans to riot level later in the season.

A disinterested vvd is still a better performer than our current cb lineup. He's a loss no matter how you look at it.
-
To be fair though, no other clubs have lost their best player other than arsenal.
-
Personally I preferred the orville. There's a huge disconnect between reviewers of that show and the audience abd I'm not sure why. I agree it's not particularly highbrow but some of the episodes really reminded me of classic star trek episodes to a much greater degree than discovery which I didn't really like at all.
-
If I was a player I'd be doing stuff like that just to f*ck with people's heads.
-
Very glad is virtually the same as pleased. They only need him to stay fit enough to score a few crucial goals and keep them up. It's entirely possible and he's a better class of striker than we have if he stays fit.

Actually many of his supposed views have been taken wildly out of context or exaggerated by a media who sieze on every crumb of a story or a quote and often blow it out of all proportion. Personally I think its an idiotic tactic because the actual stuff that trump does is silly enough without the made up stuff.
