I'm not going to write then off yet until the end of the window as they might pull off something excellent that we haven't been linked with yet but if this is it I'd rather have not been linked with Spertsyan to be honest if it meant we just wasted our time all summer before getting whatever was left at the end of the window.

If we drop something like 12 million on rak sakyi who may or may not be better than Edozie then I'll be bitterly disappointed that that's where we chose to spend our limited funds.

Looks like a total waste of limited funds in a position of vital importance to us. Perhaps he will improve and become great but it's an undeniably poor start.

Would be interesting to know which of our transfers Spors has actually been responsible for. We know he was definitely responsible for the Stephens three year contract but there was a suggestion this week that he had nothing to do with Downs or Quarshie.

Where are the Downes and THB level of quality signings for this season? Azaz maybe? Are we getting anyone else of a similar quality ?

Right but no one is calling for signings just for the sake of it. They want players that are near the best in the division for the most part.

It's this bloke and Azaz isn't it. Sell Fernandes and keep Smallbone and that's the lot. Maybe a prem lpanee winger too.

This guy may turn out to be good but on the face of it that's a really average signing.

Assume we will be losing Edozie. We also lost Sulemana who wasn't great but offered something we don't now have .

Putting aside that I don't think we will keep Fernandes, we'd be worse at RB, arguably cb and in attack although possibly better strength in depth in those departments. We'd be stronger at lb and central midfield. Out wide remains to be seen.

I hate five at the back but he's obviously doing it until we get what he sees as proper wingers. If he plays it once we have them then I'll be worried.

It's not even that. If the choice is losing Edozie for a small amount and then signing this bloke who seems similar for a lot more then it seems a bit of a bad deal .

I've even got normal non forum people mentioning in conversation how shit this transfer window has been for saints unprompted.

If Fernandes goes will be interesting to see a comparison of the first 11 for this season compared to two years ago. Will be quite close I would have thought.
