  1. So as of now, the only option we have is Shane Long for 12 million? I don't believe that. Hull are already talking about Borini or Wickham to replace him, both of whom I would prefer.
  2. Odd that you think only football scouts can give an opinion on new signings.
  3. Odd that its been decided we had no other options. What would you have said had it been before yesterday evening when we found out about Long?
  4. So the choice is now Long for 12 million or no one? Wow that was quick! Before last night no one was even talking about him!
  5. Don't think anyone definitively said we were asset stripping. Quite a few said that it was their opinion that they were until they saw evidence to the contrary. No doubt we will be pocketing a significant amount from sales this summer either way.
  6. Or sign someone like Wanyama who is quality and hasn't left?
  7. Have to agree with you there alps. A decent cb should have been brought in weeks ago.
  8. Other posters have made numerous suggestions on here. The players Hull have been linked with to replace long for a start.
  9. You could say the same thing about those declaring him a great signing. Might as well close down the message board in that case!
  10. That isn't really saying much though is it.
  11. There is no chance that someone paid that much. If Leeds paid that, we'll I would be amazed almost as much as us paying 12 million for long.
  12. Why is Pl experience a must? Most of our successful signings in recent seasons haven't had PL experience.
  13. You honestly believe there is not a single alternative? Despite long having not been mentioned this entire summer?
  14. Both of whom I would prefer.
  15. It's pretty sad posters on here desperately trying to think of reasons why signing Shane long for 12 million is a good idea. I think deep down everyone realises what a step down we have taken this summer. Both our sales and then the replacements have made that clear. What a terrible shame.
  16. As did I. I don't think anyone can dispute that our signings have seen a drop in quality this summer. We have lost top quality players and replaced with signings that are OK or good. At the least I wanted a player like Ings that had the potential to improve both in performance and value. The likes of pelle and long even if they perform OK are going to see their values decrease.
  17. Well that's depressing.
  18. Simply untrue. If that midfielder happened to be a young, promising player who played for Britain in the Olympics and who won an award at the end of season awards there would not be a meltdown.
  19. You just made that up. Cork is a decent player.
  20. Yep. We are scrapping to avoid relegation now just like all the rest.
  21. The new stoke. Good call!
  22. Chambers was one from our much publicised academy. Everyone hoped we would get to the prem so we could keep our youngsters for a few years longer. This summer has shown that, if anything, being in the prem means we keep them for less time than previously. For me its the worst for that reason.
  23. I'm still waiting for these rush of exciting signings to make us stronger that last season by September One. Just hasn't happened yet...
  24. Second worst for me. Letting chambers leave was the worst.
  25. Nothing would surprise me about the club this summer.
