Does anyone really give much of a toss about all this rubbish? All I want to see is Toby signed for us by the start of the season. No one really knows how this is going to pan out now.

I could be wrong but it seems very unlikely to me that they would now hand us the player for the small amount. Even if they did they would no doubt take it straight to court.

Better make sure it stands up in court then. Even if we were to win it would seem unlikely that we would just be handed the player so in that scenario we would just lose a top player.

Because he is easily worth 11 million plus. It's not particularly likely now that Athletico are suddenly going to allow him to go for a tiny amount.

It's pretty pathetic from us trying to claim the player when even if it is correct is against the spirit of the negotiations. We should have just paid what he worth instead of doing this which means we will probably lose him IMO.

I'd love that but still no idea what is going down. Will be interesting if Athletico are determined to sell to Spurs what happens then.

Also if what Monk says is true then we have been trying not to upset them. Clearly we have had to step things up, presumably because they going ahead with the spurs transfer.

Even if that were true, I doubt we can force them to sell to us. Most likely scenario imo is he signs for spurs and we get some compensation.

I don't think Bournemouth is really much better than Southampton in terms of things to do.

Spurs are much bigger than saints but that doesn't mean we can't aspire to be better than them in the medium to long term. It will clearly be toby's choice and if he chooses spurs then I'll be disappointed but certainly won't blame the club.

Me thinks they doth protest too much.

We will surely know by now if Toby wants to join us or not. Sours making all this noise suggests that they haven't actually reached agreement yet. I'm hopeful of marching a reasonable offer from spurs and then it's down to Toby. We clearly want him and I would hope that he would see us as closer to spurs than the likes of United or Chelsea. Our advantage is that he has a good partnership here and seemingly likes us. If he doesn't come here then I doubt very much that it will be to do with the fee, he will have just decided to go to spurs.
