We don't have to wait until the start of the season to see the damage that has been done to team morale and the message we have sent out by selling Chambers. That will still be the case regardless of who we bring in.

Certainly the scale and speed of our sales has taken the fanbase by surprise and it would be interesting to know if Koeman knew about them all before he joined.

And even if you can't do that for every player, you don't make it easy for them to leave. You certainly don't allow 7 first team players to leave easily and definitely not a young prospect with a handful of first team appearances for 11 million.
