  1. i) nothing wrong with going mad over mo farahs achievements. I'm a fan of him myself and the dedication to his sport. I also met him quite a few years ago and he was an extremely friendly man. What I find a bit odd is people talking about breaking British records when if we were using that criteria if any of the top Kenyan runners had moved to Britain at a young age they too would be British despite these individuals clearly having a biological advantage over those who are born here and native to the united Kingdom. Additionally, I don't really understand the mindset of someone who would not want to represent the country of their birth in sport but I admit that is a personal opinion. The fact you decide to bring skin colour into it is typical of someone like you and says more about you than it does me. ii) of course that is the case but don't try and pretend that the reason mo farah is a world beater isn't primarily due to his biology and his genetics. It's a similar reason why the vast majority of long distance runners are African, why most sprinters are black and why black people are normally not that strong at swimming. It is my belief that mo would have found success regardless of what developed country he had moved to at a young age. In general I feel slightly uncomfortable about someone moving to Britain and then Britain claiming their sporting achievements and I would feel that way regardless of skin colour or race. To me, a British person in a sporting sense is someone with a British mother or father, not someone with a tenuous link or someone whose family moved here. It's why I wasn't a huge fan of bussing in a load of other athletes from places like America during the Olympics and why I would object to that Chinese skater who decided to skate for Russia recently because he wasn't feeling supported at home. It's clear you are trying to create some sort of racial undertone in my post but it just makes you look sad and pathetic as per usual. Your insults are par for the course and I can only hope you will be found out for the WUM that you are and swiftly removed from the forum. Possibly a forlorn hope but we can dream. And I'm not your pal.
  2. As usual you contribute nothing and live a pointless forum existence. Debate the topics like a semi intelligent individual (as difficult as I know that is for you) or remove yourself from the thread.
  3. Despite largely agreeing with you, I did find it amusing how people go mad over mo farahs running times. Of course he is going to get times that are vastly superior to the average British bloke because physically he is so different.
  4. But using that logic why did anyone bother to support mo farah?
  5. Ralph had a very well received (and quite cheesy) speech yesterday for the staff where he talked about the love katherina and her father has for the club. He also said he would be trying his very best to keep players here.
  6. I think he will ultimately prove to be more defensively solid than shaw and could therefore be more important to us in the long run. Shaw will always command the higher fee and be more coveted because he can do the eye catching stuff so well.
  7. My hope is that Chambers eventually moves to CB and then we can fit them both in the team. I would love to eventually see: Boruc Clyne Chambers Lovren Shaw As our defence. Possibly with a new keeper but we would be fairly solid there.
  8. Towards the end of the season they have three games against teams around them. If they lose a couple of them then they will really be in trouble.
  9. Get in. I've been campaigning for the fans forum for years.
  10. Saw this on the telly this morning: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/chesney-hawkes-leads-air-guitar-record-attempt-to-raise-cash-for-theatre-1-5936160 Will this prompt the largest crowd at Fratton this season? They will certainly be the most entertained.
  11. A lot of movement today. Must be getting rid of the deadwood. I doubt we will be keeping a load of players rotting in the reserves going forward.
  12. What does any of that have to do with Hull having a better season than us. There is more to a season than league position. Hull are off to Wembley and will probably make a cup final with a great chance to win it. They will remember that for years.
  13. Here is another person overestimating the influence of this place. It's just a bunch of blokes who should know better with some time on their hands taking the p*ss and analysing stuff to do with SFC. It's not really affecting anything is it and has precisely zero effect on the current and previous chairman's behaviour.
  14. brilliant. If I got a load of spam texts from my boss every day I would be mightily p*ssed off.
  15. Bit rich considering the endless paragraphs of nothing you normally serve up.
  16. Chelsea are never going to just spend what they earn. They are going to find ways around the FFP, it is obvious.
  17. Yep and that's why I said earlier this would be a frustrating day for the win at any cost fans.
  18. What is most remarkable is that he gave it away to the world for free. An unbelievable act tbh.
  19. Corpy isn't happy over on pol... I disagree that we should support Barker. Not only have we not imroved since sacking GW (which was the right thing to do) in the points per game we're achieving Barker's dour, turgid style of play is driving people away from FP and will without doubt see a fall in ST renewals for next season. I suspect the board realise this and that's why Catlin issued his "more money to spend on players" rallying call earlier this week. People seem to be suggesting that the style of football will somehow miraculously transform next season once Barker can bring in new players. He's brough in almost a full team of his own men and there's been no improvement at all. He's allegedly tightened up the defence but our GD has failed to improve in the slightest so the net gain once again is nothing. We've scored 7 goals in our last ten games which shows a pathetic lack of threat and to help address this Barker has sent the only two natural goalscorers we have on the books out on loan - where both have scored several goals. Not only are we not scoring, we're not even threatening to score. In the last three games we've managed 4 shots on target. That's four on target efforts in 270 minutes play. Or one every 67 minutes. Twenty or so games into his reign I can see no evidence of any progression under Barker, no style of play emerging, no method to his team selections and no promise. His style of play at Crawley was described as defensive & dour and his lat seven games there resulted in one goal. Why should we support this man? Nothing, absolutely nothing I've seen or read about him since he's been here makes me think he will bring success to this club. His churlish comments blaming previous managers, players and the Dalai Lama for poor performances are just the icing on an extremely **** cake
  20. It depends who we sell how many we sell and who we replace them with. Nowhere near as black and white as you suggest.
  21. Good news. If he doesn't want to go then he won't be sold.
  22. Not sure what else you would have wanted him to say. Set out his vision for success, outlined his philosophy and said there was a lot that needed doing on the commercial side of things.
  23. Thanks for the advice but I'm not in any sort of frenzy. A frenzy was the way people reacted after that nauseating pr piece on the BBC a few months back. As I have a background in pr I have my eyes wide open thanks very much and of course actions will speak louder than words. I like what I have read and heard about this guy though and as an initial statement it is exciting and seemingly a very positive and refreshing change.
  24. Although neither are comparable or in any way linked...
