  1. Not good enough. You should be publicly flogged for doubting.
  2. enjoy a good game or two.
  3. You do wonder what sort of squad a few people expect in league 1! All this "what happens if we get loads of injuries" expect a lot of premiership sides would soon be onto untried youngsters if their first 4 forwards were all injured!
  4. will really need him if Alex goes.
  5. its tough but to be in top two its looks like we really need to win most games. Win the next two, not everyone playing midweek and a couple of all top 7 ties on Saturday and hopefully will start pulling away from some of play off teams
  6. fair enough to admit you are changing your views. I do find it strange it has taken this long. Look at his results - coming in and working with a team that had had four straight defeats and quickly turning into one that was winning 7, drawing 2 and losing just 1 in the next ten! Think he has looked good from day 1.
  7. Millwall boss Kenny Jackett has hopes of signing Southampton winger Jason Puncheon. For their FA Cup defeat to Birmingham City, the Lions boss said his side had been hampered by the absence of Jason Puncheon, who returned to Southampton this week after scoring five goals in a month-long loan spell, and admits he wants the midfielder back at the New Den. The winger has also attracted interest from Newcastle United. "Jason scored five goals in seven matches and he is under contract at Southampton," Jackett said. "We are keen on Jason. We'll see what comes about in terms of who's out there. He is still a target."
  8. Even if we are intending to sell him, this helps with negotiating. Adkins made a statement yesterday that Puncheon is a first team player - not someone who is going to be sat here waiting for an offer. If Millwall thought he had burnt his bridges and could get him cheap they are wrong!
  9. Left back in addition to Harding, Dickson and Mills (recall from loan)? Rested Jaidi and Fonte and our CBs had Euell, Brett and all under control. Bigger forward than Guly? Nice to get signings but how will keep squad balanced and players happy etc?

    Ormerod

didn't notice any. bit for euell but none for Brett
  11. clearly had potential, but one of the worst players I have seen play for saints (don't mean in ability or future career but actual performance whilst here) continually gave the ball away in our own half
  12. Post from November comparing our "weak" cover upfront. I appreciate since then Guly has started scoring for fun and Puncheon has been knocking them in at a higher level so stat a bit out of date
  13. Correct. You wouldn't think it was that difficult would you? Every team wants to and will try to improve. This squad has enough quality and enough cover to win this league. Doesn't mean it will, nor will paying £2m for Austin to sit on the bench, £1m for Antonio to sit on the bench etc etc. We have two of the best LBs and two of the best RBs in this league - what if they all get injured, should we have five for each position??? We left out today: Kelvin, Butterfield Fonte Jaidi Dickson Chaplow Ox-C Guly Do Prado David Connolly Oscar Gobern The quality is there. THe depth is there. We have, ever since Adkins arrived been the best side in this league We have gone from having lowest points in league after 4 or 5 games to be 2nd just short of half way. Therefore the form is there. It is likely we will be top 3. NO signing or signings will guarantee top 2. Adkins will probably come away from every training session and every game thinking there is room for improvement with current players and additions. He has said, and I agree, this squad is good enough to win this league. Look at Brighton's squad! Alpine - you ask if the squad is good enough why shouldn't we win it? - You follow football you should know, because its a sport! Can Man City guarantee the league just by keep adding players? You wonder why you get abuse when you claim that everyone else on here, where about 90% agree are all talking boll@cks.
  14. far too sensible for some!
  15. look at any other teams squad, for example Brighton's forwards. No-ones got anywhere near our strength, every position we a at least two very able players. we left out all the starting back 5 from our last win. Ox'c etc
  16. quick but bit one dimensional today.
  17. really flexible - Puncheon spend much of the game centre, Lallana was advanced more than the in the hole role. Don't think you could really pin that performance to one formation,
  18. Am loving it! If you can't enjoy it when it is going well you should find another hobby!!
  19. true - particularly when our back up forwards are already better than others.
  20. I do, it was saying we don't need to sign further stikers - which I stand by.
  21. which is what the rest of us have been saying!
  22. NickG

    Adkins record

needing to constantly seek to improve your squad (which is correct ) is not the same as saying this squad is not good enough (which is talking boll@cks!)
  23. clearly good enough.
  24. Been to loads of grounds with saints - but for some reason never Old Trafford - always thought would do it "next" season as complacent in div 1 / premiership, regret that now so want a chance to see it!
  25. agree
