Emile Hesky - played as out and out forward, picked by numerous England managers -signed for 2 top 6 sides - top finisher? No. There are numerous other examples of good forwards who don't score a lot, you really are looking a bit silly here. Kevin Davies? You are showing only a superficial level of understanding of football. If you had seen the game you would have seen how vital he was for opening up the defence - something we have often been lacking playing "better" forwards like Rickie, Barnard or Connolly. He set up two goals -should have been a third but for Lallana's poor finishing (guess he is no longer a good forward as missed two good chances!). Of course you need goals from your forwards - but to get those you need chances - which is what he provided. If he was also a great finisher he wouldn't be here!

to be honest don't expect any easy/hard games in this league - how well badly team is doing doesn't seem to matter, unpredictable league

To win this league, the team we have to overtake - Brighton. Their last 5 league games (most recent first) D L D D L - 5 league games without a win. They last won a league game on 2nd November. Tonight they had their best player sent off for violent conduct and will be suspended. Has their bubble burst? They lost Lua Lua with a broken ankle in the first of those defeats - and have not won a league game since he returned to Newcastle. Catchable? I think so.

why go to Liverpool (if any truth in it) we can match their offer of ccc football next season

think if at the time of his appointment we were offered a manager who would get more points than any other until end of 2010 we would have jumped at the offer.

whilst I questioned the decision to replace Pardew, particularly at that time, he was not gaining points as Adkins is. He is doing much better than ok. The true test is the end of the season.

Just looked at the league table for the 15th September, when Adkins had just come in and we had lost to MK. Since that time, we have won more points than any other in this division. Taking over a side struggling to get a point that is pretty impressive and suggests that Adkins has what it takes to win this league.

Adkins was asked, after the Brighton draw, whether it would be between us and Brighton at the end of the season for the title. Adkins replied that he couldn't see them staying with us!

after 6 games (maybe 5) when he came in we had lowest points in the division. After 20 games we are in play offs, 2 points off 2nd! He has proven he can get us to the required level already.

maybe Barney would have scored those but would he have been in those positions?

think Wooton is good sub, when have a lead but are having heavy pressure on us at the end of a game

think he started poorly with the game passing him by but came good after that, thought our performance improved when Morgan started running the midfield - our best out of three CMc yesterday imho, not Hammond.
