Dixon and Holmes made strong case to be part of Adkins future plans

Think defence and forwards are pretty much there - when midfield is working better they will do fine. Will be good for someone to have a fresh look at CM pairing.

Heard him when he joined us talking about playing with real width. He seemed to keep moaning to Harding that he was not sticking to the line enough. He then subbed him, bought on Dickson and Holmes - there always seemed to be one of them standing literally on the line. Hopefully we will see some good wide playing from his team

Biggest two differences compared to last season: Lallana injury and Lambert's poor form. Biggest problem in team: Hammond - lacking grit, energy and ability to control centre of park

always hoped that Holmes would live up to the undoubted potential he has shown. Him and Dickson improved us greatly - usually one of them was hugging touch line at the time - something I noticed NA keep asking Harding to do - lesson there!

Martin was best player in the two games before injured, Seaborne did ok today. Personally think you are missing the problem areas

don't need to, we all know the stats will show it is very possible for us to go up and certainly not too late - however, the team clearly is not playing well enough this season except in probably about 200 odd minutes in total. The positives are its far from too late and we do have good players, the negative is they are showing no sign of wanting, or being able to perform. Think it will only take two or three games for us to have a much better idea.

will you boycott this site? I suggest you will never get an explanation. I think everyone will agree it is unlikely we would have lost 4 games if Pardew was still here. If Adknis turns things around things will soon be forgotten. Move on.

Adkins - learnt a lot, need to be better set pieces at both ends, learnt about how players react, players need to play attractive football but rememeber in battle and get quality balls into forwards Merrrington said it was superb response
