Hes our player. If Adkins wants him back he has no choice. If hes on the bench its up to him to fight his way off it. If he is as good a player as some people say then he will play. I do not think Adkins has the kind of ego that would keep a good player out the team for any reason other than the player not fulfilling his role in the team.

Leave it up to Adkins. Sure he will make the right descision for the cub.

I think that if a shadow of doubt there should be a deadline as to how late a referee can cancel the game. i think Durso was inconsiderate and showed a total lack of respect to the fans. Plus why cancel it without telling the managers first. Unjustifiable!

are these referees not accountable. There is no justification for leaving it so late to postpone the game. How can he do that and get away with it? Can not get my head around it.

Sorry, you can talk all day Durso. to call off the game at 12 0c clock is utterly disgusting, at least i had only 15 miles to get home, but all the saints coaches had arrived. How can that be allowed to happen. Absolutely disgusting. Also do not know why the police didnt say anything as we walked to the ground. Totally ****ed off.

Would put money on us having new owners in next 12 to 18 months months. To me it is a no brainer. If I was Cortese the fun would have gone out of the project with the very sad passing of M.L. He will be hear now out of loyalty, i suspect more than what is in it for himself. I would also feel confident that he will be selective in who he sells the club too.

I think Adkins is fantastic, but when ever I watch him doing an interview I expect him to break into a Norman Wisdom routine..............................Grimsdale!

Is lambert injured? just been reeding that there are rumours of Adkins telling Lambert to try harder, causing Lambert to spit his dummy out of the pram. Find it hard to believe personally, but wondering if any one else has heard anything about this?

Re post 51 I also had a post pulled by this moderator, with pretty much the same comments from him. To be fair I am not a paid up member because I would not pay to use a forum. He seems to have a mission to support the more idiotic posts/ posters. Like you feel his intervention is pathetic. Cant see me posting any more, only posting now because was annoyed about his biased and pious attitude and interested to see it was not a one off. Could I ask if the other moderators support this, I think new moderators actions on this sadly declining forum.

What kind of forum is this that when a attention seeking thread is allowed to continue [and why not] and my response that It is attention seeking and pointless was removed. [ see post 5] Any way to repeat, I am more underwhelmed with the O.Ps quality of thinking than I am with the quality of Adkins management. If we have to why not see where we are at the end of the season and judge Adkins then. Even the quality of the moderating has declined on this site. Shame. This kind of thraed is clearly just hunting for attention

I must be be missing something, but the impression I get is that we are very happy with Adkins. There will always be a knee jerk reaction after a game either getting too carried away if we win and too despondant if we lose. We all know the time to judge any manager is perhaps after 18 months. Personally I am glad we have him managing our club.

He's the best striker at the club when fit, no doubt. But he'll probably be back in the treatment room soon.

Thanks for benefit of your reply, slightly patronising as you seem to be assuming that I am commenting of lack of buying when the transfer market is closed, which is not what i was thinking or saying as I suspect every one posting on this forum probably understands the rules regarding when players can and can not be signed. I think if you read my post correctly you will realise that in your desire to be clever you have totally missed my point. Which is not to say you may feel my thoughts are unfounded or what ever. Just annoys me when points a poster has taken the time to make are answered in a condascending or aggressive way, when that person has not even grasped what the post is about.

I read the thread that you are alluding to. It has gone through my mind that in some ways we are in a rather insecure position. It is one thing having a rich owner enjoying the pleasure of building a succesful team, with all the social, personal and even at some point financial benefits. With his very sad passing in the medium term, will the family and even Cortese really have the desire to continue. Of course early on all parties will want to support the desires of a much loved man, but in the cold light of day can the vision really continue with out the main participant. I have also noticed a certain lack of financial activity, most visibly I guess in the transfer market. January will make things clearer in this respect and if no players are signed that would start making me more convinced that things are changing. I am not panicking, because we have a good manager and our position versus the awful Lowe era is far better, but I am not going to be surprised if we do not have major, significant changes well before the much vaunted 5 year plan.

Nick Holmes was one of the most under rated players. Alan Ball was right he never seemed to have a bad game. One of Mcmenemys " hod carriers", but what a fantastic player and servant to our club. I hope he looks back on his career with great pride, because he should.

Probably George Best. A real genius. Also very impressed with Bobby Moore. Can remember watching him at the Dell and thinking he was like a man playing in a boys team. He just had so much time on the ball. George best Genius Bobby Moore, pure class.

Its hard to put a finger on why i feel happier with Adkins than i was with Pardew. Dont get me wrong i dont think Pardew is a bad manager and i was not a critic when he managed us so i wont be a critic now. With Adkins though i feel he is more intelligent, certainly communicates in a more open way. I think he really does emphasise the team ethic and feel he will get more out of the existing squad. I suspect with Pardew it was as much about him as the team. Which i dont feel this is the case know.

Who are these want away players, hadnt heard about this? Also, cant see how you can tell players are de motivated? I think it is a narrow line between being on form and not quite, and Adkins to me looks like a good manager who will succeed given time.

Could it be that not getting promoted last season knocked the stuffing out of the players more than we think. Some of the players i am sure came in the belief that we would be in the nationwide league this season.Has reality bitten that to get out of this league takes a hell of a lot of commitment and hard graft. I am not saying our players are lazy or not committed but psychologically are they finding it hard to make themselves go that extra, extra mile week in and week out. Particularly with us being a scalp that gets a lot of teams raising there game against us. I firmly believe the problem is mainly in the players head. It all seems so hard at the moment. Mark my words 3 wins on the spin and suddenly the players will have that swagger, that feeling that if they do what they can do they will not get beaten. Atkins biggest short term job is to get that feeling back into the players, and if necessary [hopefully not] get out any one that doesnt believe. The players need to forget the next game in terms of having to win it, and concentrate on doing the things they did last season when they were having there great run, try and enjoy the challenge and fight as if there life depended on it. Well said, some common sense at last. Theres even someone on another thread calling for Lambert to be dumped. What would they be saying when he started scoring every game for that lucky club. I am not saying we will get promoted, i am not saying we wont, i am saying just calm down, stop panicking. We will get some new players in Adkins will make his improvements and lets just wait and see. Not sure at this nervey time if doubting the team is going to help. Just a thought, Pardew was a well backed manager for a year and this was his team so maybe he bares some responsability.
