Wheres he gone?
-
Barnards a nasty competive player. Any team will be stronger with that type of player. Be madness to lose him.
-
Of course if we sign Stephens as Sky are suggesting I take it all back..............
-
I thought it was clear that Adkins was wanting another midfielder as he Took the unusual step of mentioning a few games back. I find it hard to accept that there are no players who could come out there. Does this mean that Cortese is unable to get some one in and if so why. Is it funds or lack of. Surely for 10 games rather than risk another season in this league we should get someone in even if costing more than we want. My concern is if we are not spending now, why will anything be different next season. Something just not quite adding up.

I have a genuine question for you, which I am hoping you can give an honest answer to. Obviously I am not believing that your original post was serious as I can not imagine anyone really thinking we should aim low. [Perhaps an utter moron could feasibly think that I suppose] My serious question, Alpine is what do you get out of this? Surely you arent doing it for attention, that would surely get so boring after all this time. I dont want to speculate because anything I think of would sound like I was just slagging you off. So honestly, what do you get out of it?

Charlton 1 - 1 Saints - Post Match Reaction
croydonsaint replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Just back from game. Frustrating game. Should not have lost. Ngessun I am afraid was rubbish. Also we really do need another midfielder. So frustrated. Defence solid and Barnard a reasl handful. -
I think Adkins has been very clever in continually reinforcing key points. These messages will be totally clear to the players, ie. the importance of unity, hard work and all the squad being important.[not about 11 players]. The biggest thing I feel he has done is taken the pressure off the players, which I felt was there under Pardew and cost us points. By stressing we can only control the controllables and stressing one game at a time and drawing a blue line under the last game once it has been discussed I really believe the players have clearer heads going into each game. I think under Pardew players were prone to lose confidence after a poor result and I really do not think that is the case now. I think hes a character and we are lucky to have him. Long may he keep reeling out his phrases. I think sometimes they are very funny.

f.f.s we won, scored 3 goals and a kept a clean sheet. Unreal.

Question for the Positive-Thinkers after the Walsall result
croydonsaint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Think probably most of us that come on here would agree. Have stopped posting on here because I find myself getting wound up by the few sad Trolls. Shame because I am certain this forum would be better with out them. -
It is always quiet on a sunday and Im thinking with the cup final on the telly that would have kept the diehards away?
-
If we mantain our current form of just under 2 pooints per game we will definately achieve automatic promotion
-
Would love to know, what ever it was its got under his skin. Chaplow seemed less bothered than him.
-
Looks like Ferguson really dislikes Chaplow, from his snidey post match comments and his reaction to Chaplow from the side lines. Thought Ferguson let himself down and showed himself to be a little man. No Grace. Would hate to have a manager like that. Did any body else notice?
-
can we nip this in the bud please. We are trying to get promotion out of this league. Its not easy, we will not win every game. We have a very good manager and a pretty good team. Why are we slagging off one of our players. Its been creeping in over the last few weeks or more. Kelvin is starting to be a target for a feeble minority. Stop it. He is a good goal keeper. Get off his back and f........ing support the team.

The refusal to sell a season ticket at Southampton FC

The refusal to sell a season ticket at Southampton FC
croydonsaint replied to lenwilkins's topic in The Saints
Morning Colinjb All I was tyring to say is the club seem to have acted in a petty and arrogant way. I do not know the person involved, although clearly he is a keen supporter. If there was good reason then surely the club could explain that reason. Anyones opinion of the complainant is totally irrelevant in my opinion. I have no axe to grind regarding the management of our club, infact in many ways I am quite impressed with it, but in this case I am not happy with how a fellow supporter has been treated. -
The refusal to sell a season ticket at Southampton FC
croydonsaint replied to lenwilkins's topic in The Saints
I think you should care less. On any leval the club has not acted well. If they are not prepared to give reasons for refusals one can only assume that they may not be good or fair reason. Regardless of personalities involved I am sorry that the club I support should act in what seems such a petty and disapointing way. Hopefully at this late stage the may correct this feeble, customer relations. -
I was thinking that. Shame!

Know what you mean, but its lost no magic for me. Winning yesterday and the thought of playing Man U at home. I will be smiling all week. With Llallana signing on friday, the likely prospect of Gauly signing, what a great time to be a saints fan again

Saints vs Manchester Utd - 4th Round FA Cup Draw
croydonsaint replied to saint_bert's topic in The Saints
Absolutely the best possible draw............................. If we get knocked out then no worries as clearly it is all about getting promotion. No loss of confidence in losing to Man U. If we win, what a result. No pressure for us iether way, genuinely fancy our chances but wont be too gutted if we lose. Cant wait. -
Saints 2 - 0 Blackpool - Post match reaction
croydonsaint replied to Yorkshire Saint's topic in The Saints
Dont forget, we made 7 changes. Think Adkins won the tactical battle, hands down. Man U next, and let them wear what ever shirts they want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Would you prefer a Blackpool win to a replay?
croydonsaint replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
No. No way should we accept to lose. We have a squad with at the least, young players that will gain from the experience of playing in the f.a.cup. -
Trying to get Alpine Saint to see his inconsistencies, irrationalities, negativeness, would be like trying to get my wife to understand I am allways right.................... its not going to happen. But Alpine, for what it is worth if I was reading NickGs posts my opinion would be of a mature, reasoned, well balanced person. As often as not when i read your contributions I generally have the opposite opinion. Know this is of no help to you as I guess I will be a happy clapper or something, but just an observation.
