Well he can f*** off then.

As far as the Manc clubs are concerned can't look much further than George Best, who imho was quite simply the best I have ever seen on a football pitch and for their noisy neighbours probably Colin Bell.

Or maybe Phil Boyer?

What a hairdo!

What Is The Most Amazing Place In The World That You Have Been Too

Some bits of the UK are stunning, I just love the Isle of Purbeck and that whole stretch of coast from Studland to Durdle Door. A year or so ago I came across an absolute gem close to the border between England and Wales on the edge of the Black Mountains, namely the Eywas Valley. I was with my daughter helping her do some research for her dissertation on post glacial mass movements. Absolutely stunning landscape with a ruined priory at Llanthony and the highest road pass in Wales in the Gospel Pass which links Abergavenny and Hay on Wye. -

From an historical perspective I would like to add Mycenae, Epidavros and a special mention to Pompeii and Herculaneum very atmospheric. -

The Pelion in Greece is stunning and the solitude of some the places I’ve ridden to in the French Alps spring to mind, although my favourite is the Col d’Ornon. The D211A and B balcony roads near Alpe d’Huez are pretty amazing , but the prize has to go the Maldives. Lucky enough go a couple of times the seaplane transfer was just brilliant last month. -
Barton is half a Scouse brain thinking he's a full Scouse brain, either way he isn't exactly blessed with the grey matter. His pitch as the 'thinking man's footballer/pundit' is f**king hilarious. Got to love the way Talk Sh**e buy into it also.

How far back can you trace your Southampton lineage?
Winnersaint replied to Winnersaint's topic in The Lounge
Cheers. North Baddesley was the closest I lived in 1960s, so not that familiar with some of the places/streets in Southampton. -
Been doing the family tree thing. Fascinating stuff. Now I know why I am a Saints fan! Had direct family living in Chapel Rd at 1851 census and Castle Gardens in St Mary's in 1881, but I don't know where that is now. By 1901 they were in Gloucester Passage in Holy Rood parish. My grandfather was born at southern end of Derby Rd. His great-grandmother hailed from Co Cork and appears in Southampton in 1851 probably due to the Great Famine and was living in what looks like Rupert St in St Mary's.

Wasn't great. Remember the 5th Round game in 1979. A long walk back to Smethwick Rolfe St in those days (no Hawthorns Station then) along Brasshouse Lane, all factories, nowhere to leg it to. Was in Worcester doing my degree at the time and had gone with a mate who was a Smethwick/Handsworth local (Villa fan). Got chased by Baggies all down that road and then ran into Saints as they burst out of the station in numbers and then had to leg it from them as my mate could never pass for anything other than a local. Lol!

Got there quite early. there were certainly a lot of Man U there and as Nordic pointed out were outnumbered around 3 to 1. Not many saints coaches when we arrived. One Utd t w a t tried to get in the coach via the emergency exit. Got his head inside only to find it joined to the toe end of a ten hole DM boot. Parked up and pretty soon the coach park was full of Saints. don't recall Mancs marauding around pre match. Gates were not open when we left the coach so had to wait a while to get in on the steps, again I don't recall much in the way of Man U fans kicking off. Inside Wembley it was like an away game as you would expect given there were 70 odd thousand of them inside. I was in the upper tier to the right of the tunnel, pretty much on an angle with Bobby's shot which you could see Stepney was never getting to. A surreal few seconds. Cue the euphoria followed by YGGYFHKI from United fans, but nothing really serious went on that I could see. By the time we were out there wasn't much going on outside just a hell of a lot of happy people. Now Bradford in the sixth round, that was an experience!

Indeed, sometimes I wish social media in all its 'glory would just disappear up its own arse. What did the trolls and keyboard warriors do before its inception? Over to you Glasgow, Alpine, Dalek and the other mongs?

Indeed but on my way out tomorrow so bit of a journey to get back for Sunday, plus not sure SWMBO would be toochuffed if I bailed.

Best trip to the Dell in midweek I can recall in Prem Era. Won't be watching on Saturday though. Will be slumming it in the Indian Ocean in celebration of my 60th birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary, both reached in the second half of last year. Even get to go on a seaplane!

But a consistent one I suppose.

Don’t be so generous, he’s a c**t

However unconvincing we were that day the officials dropped an almighty b-o-l-l-o-c-k which has cost us that 11th place.

Hmmmm not sure about that. Worked with Curbishley at Charlton when they were the envy of smaller top flight clubs including us for ten years. Always regarded as the brains behind that. Just couldn’t cut it as no1. Interestingly Charlton eventuallly ran out of steam progressing in a similar way we seem to be doing. At least they had the luxury of just one manager.
