Gazzaniga is still out with an injury so unless he recovers Boruc will play. He certainly doesn't play like an experienced international goalkeeper. His kicking was just adequate, his coolness and throwing was good, very nervous to start with but got better, one save that didn't come back off him, a couple of important catches but has a long way to go to justify the confidence in him from some on here. He certainly hasn't improved on his first three games but lucky for him the defence is much better.

On most aircraft the auto deployment of spoilers have to be armed prior to landing. We had a 146 go off the end at ABZ with plenty of runway, just floated, pilots never twigged the spoilers weren't deployed. Manually just a simple pull on a lever if they don't deploy. I suspect not brake failure because of alternative and emergency brakes. We had an A320 where the brakes failed and the auto changeover failed due to corrosion. It was a temporary leased from Airbus waiting for new A320/321s so they picked up the bill. Pilots did well to stop it, nearly ended up in the sea.

Thanks Ian, boy, did that bring back memories. I flew that aircraft a fair bit, we had twenty of them at one time. Noisy but so much nicer to fly than the Fokker F27. Last flew one early 1986 before moving on to the BAC 1-11.

I think the more direct approach could be the way except if we do that I think we need Rodriguez and Lambert up front. Interestingly the mail may have an inside track, they are saying Clyne with an ankle injury and forecasting a team with two changes from Saturday, Ramirez for Guly and Gazzaniga in goal. That is really out of left field as there is nothing to indicate Gazzaniga, because whilst there may be nothing in it, on the logic front a goalkeeping change wouldn't be a surprise, but the money would be on Boruc replacing Davis, however last week Adkins said he rates Gazzaniga highly. Personally from what I've seen of Boruc in the three games he has played I prefer Gazzaniga despite the errors.

On the face of it looks like a right mess up by the pilots. Landing on snow is no big deal if R/W is long enough. I will say there was a recent crash in Siberia with a similar Tu 204 (Boeing 757 - 200 look alike) where the reversers and the brakes were supposed to have failed. Mind you brakes and icy R/W don't go together and reversers in a crosswind can cause weather cocking. I once landed a full Herald on a snow covered icy R/W at Jersey downhill and stopped easily. The atc asked what the braking was like and my reply was "I don't know I didn't use them". I just touched down on the very end of the R/W and let it roll. Amazing how quickly we stopped just with the props in ground fine pitch. The Tu 204 was empty so the approach speeds should have been pretty slow making it look like maybe they didn't get it down or maybe didn't deploy the spoilers.

Surely all Portpin have to do is offer to take the ground and/or assets in return for reducing the secured debt by more than the PST/ Robinson offer?

I welcomed Boruc's signing, I just couldn't believe his performance v MU, then his poor display v WHU and not much better v Spurs. If you think he is the answer on what we've seen to date, we will see him in v Arsenal. I hope he is and plays well, if he isn't he won't play much. I think Adkins may well bring back Gazzaniga, he has by far the best record this season.
-
I believe Adkins rates Gazzaniga above the others from his recent remarks about how highly he rates him. Davis seems to have been given a final chance after Gazzaniga injured his shoulder, but has made more mistakes than saves. Nobody knows how he rates Boruc because he has never discussed him, but Davis warts and all was preferred to him. I think if he isn't in v Arsenal he is just a backup. Adkins may well bring back Gazzaniga who has played better than the other two for the club. Boruc was described by the Sky commentators at WHU as being nervous, having a bad day at the office, indecisive and glad when it's over. Against Spurs he wasn't impressive and in his game for the U21s v MU didn't show the class being claimed on here. The PL records show Davis conceded 19 in 8, Boruc 6 in 2 and Gazzaniga 12 in 9. I personally prefer Gazzaniga.
-
As if we are going to let the nearly bankrupt WHU relegate us.

Davies was the best in the world at that time and in the forty years since I've never seen anybody that even came close. Nobody playing currently could touch him.
-
In the three games I have seen him play for the club, he let in 9 goals and looked very ordinary. My view, if he was as good as some on here are making out, there is no way Davis would still be in goal, especially as Boruc looks like he has lost a lot of weight. After Davis's sub standard display yesterday, if Boruc doesn't play v Arsenal, he isn't rated and is just a back up.
-
FFS we were lucky to get away with it, Flapper Davis versus an aerial bombardment. I don't buy this idea of bringing in Boruc he has played three games for the club and conceded 9 goals and didn't look good in any of them. Gazzaniga had a decent record apart from two very different errors, he is a much better keeper than Davis. To date Boruc has done nothing to rate a place. If he was the answer he would be in. Adkins might give Boruc a go but I think if we make a change Gazzaniga will come back in.

Especially against Arsenal.

If one thing Davis did today that sums him up, it was the way he intentionally just batted the ball into a bunch of players in the six yard box in the last minute of injury time. We were lucky it didn't go back in. I don't care about how good a club man he is because he is employed as a Premier League goalkeeper, he is a liability and a flapper. Gazzaniga is twice the keeper Davis is. Guly had a decent game, good cross for the goal, even the one he missed came at him like lightning but I will criticise him for one thing, instead of getting out behind Shaw he just watched until too late, Shaw was isolated, beaten, the cross came in, Jones scored. He wasn't picking anybody up and needed to cover Shaw, they may well have stopped it there. It was a decent point and we aren't playing like a relegation side. Last four away 5 points. The team played well and 13 points from the last 9 is decent form. The defensive six played well and the front four gave Stoke plenty to think about. It was nice to see Rodriguez and Lambert teaming up and each scoring.

As far as I am concerned Lambert is our best striker. Lacks pace and needs to concentrate getting into the box all the time. Lambert crossing the ball from deep is a waste as he is the only good header of the ball unless JR is in there already. We need to get Ramirez on the ball as a priority, let him be the playmaker, just give him the ball wherever he is. As at Fulham we need Lambert on the field if we get a penalty, at the end of the season that could be the difference.

Under FA Rules it was

I thought it was 10, is it 7 in the Premier?
-
Unusually for him not in the corner but rising and really thumped.
-
I wouldn't have wanted anyone else taking that penalty.
-
Davis is a sub standard goalkeeper and lucky to be even getting a game. I never criticised Lambert, the only thing I think is he doesn't get into the box enough. The goal should have been cut out by Davis but he misjudged it. When Gazzaniga made a mistake the whole bloody web went into melt down. If Davis stays in goal we will go down.
-
I think we play better from the back with Gazzaniga, even his kicking is better. I don't think we will be bringing in another keeper unless it's the likes of Friedel being released. Davis was all over the place several times today when crosses came in. S.Davis was almost anonymous, we showed more balance with Rodriguez on and Ramirez floating out to the right.
-
The finishing team looked reasonable. Davis had to do better for the goal, didn't have a save to make all game. He gives us nothing with ball in hand.
-
A good move, I think that both Le Tissier and Benali are not liked because of their history re the takeover and the property issue which is really not related to the history.
-
All finished when the club was taken over, one of my mates is a close friend, said he was sad about it as he had been with the club a long time.

If you were given £15m to spend on one player in January?
