  1. Perhaps he wants to be offered an improved contract like some of his team mates. These stories surface at such times especially in the tabloids. Why would he leave for Fulham or Swansea.
  2. You need to score goals so what do you do, you spend £12m on a fat centre back.
  3. Without the option this time of going back to his spiritual home.
  4. Insufficient punishment whatever the rules and a kick in the b@llocks for the likes of Luton. Personally I miss the derbies. When they play Eastleigh maybe.
  5. It's not his fault. It's not his team. He said so. He said he'll put his own team together for next season and give it a good go.
  6. Pleased to hear Danny Fox did well today. I hesitate to be critical because he did well for us last season. But in the PL it seems to me teams target him as a weakness and double up on him which means he rarely gets forward and given the importance of full backs to the way we play his inability then to get forward means we lose balance and threat down the left hand side.
  7. Couldn't see anything wrong with Lallana's goal.
  8. Pompey's attendances less than half Saints', as now. Both sides at home though which hasn't been allowed for a long time.
  9. Strange that the Mirror included Southampton in the list of relegation candidates, albeit recognising that we are very unlikely to go down and apologising for ever having thought we would, yet excluded Newcastle who are below us. I guess they're too good to go down.
  10. You've solved the mystery. We can't play someone with an arse that big. We'd be a laughing stock.
  11. We've almost reached the end of the season and he still gives every indication of knowing next to naff all about Saints. He knows little because he can't be arsed to find out. Ah well, it's not like he's well paid to do this....
  12. 'bout time he scored.
  13. Tevez scores.
  14. Manu equalise.
  15. Manu equalise.
  16. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-relegated-1-5004060 This from the Portsmouth News confirms they are likely to get the deduction next season. Not many comments from their own fans on there.
  17. If anyone has a spare please pm me.
  18. Perry jumped early much more effectively than Yoshida by timimg his jump and also by standing right into the opponent so that the early jump restricted his opponents ability to jump. Yoshida sometimes launches himself into space and the ball sails right over him leaving his opponent with a clear header. Defective technique.
  19. Aside from the exquisite goals take a look at the faces and body language of the defenders after Matt hits the back of the net. It's like, htf are we supposed to stop him.
  20. Now the relatively good reputation of out club gets linked with thuggery elsewhere when the sensible thing would have been for those affected by the anti- social behaviour to have had a quiet word with the stewards who would have dealt with it without Saints fans getting involved.
  21. Then you may count yourself as very fortunate because it was horrific. At no time throughout the 80's was I deterred from attending any match I wanted to attend but my biggest fear was always a crowd surge on overcrowded terraces with no escape because of the fences that were erected routinely at football grounds. Hillsborough was an accident waiting to happen.
  22. Ricklambert. Thanks for the link. I read you're match report which I think is good. Have you considered writing for other blogs, fanzines, websites? Writing to as wide an audience as possible should encourage more feedback to help sharpen your writing skills. Think about writing different kinds of articles than the standard match report. For instance what special angle or insights do you have as a Saints fan writing for other Saints fans or for the general reader?
  23. It's interesting because, as the OP alludes to, I bet most people remember exactly where they were and what they were doing on that day. I came home from playing football and can picture clearly even now the images on the tv as I walked into the room thinking initially, why is this on the box and then realising the horror of what was unfolding.
  24. Carlton Cole or Can't Control as he's called by West Ham fans.
  25. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2309032/Andy-Carroll-Rickie-Lambert-head-head-West-Ham-Southampton.html Here we go again.
