    Paul merson

Good player. Crap pundit. Bit thick.
  2. He's right he did give Adkins reason not to play him and it wasn't that he threw a water bottle. He's improved. We're all happy with him. Why bring this up now?
  3. They struggle for goals but they're not the only ones. His injury may not be critical to their survival. Thinking back to the match at SMS they were solid and uninspiring, a bit like Norwich. Think they'll just about stay up.
  4. Did the BBC predictor and had us finsihing 10th which is because I am completely and unashamedly biased. In ascending order; Reading, QPR and Villa to go down, Villa having lost to Wigan on the final day (not the outcome I'd prefer as Villa is a good day out).

    Guly

How many more times is this going to get recycled. This what happened. In the sequence before the corner was taken, Lallana wandered off and left unmarked the Skate who headed the goal. We probably man marked that day, or should have, so someone should have picked him up. Guly was guarding the post so not there to man mark. On the other hand, on Saturday he got caught square on to the attacker and even worse turned his back on him. A very basic error. Please try to be fair and even handed in your criticism. One other thing. He gets selected for his creative qualities which he hasn't always had credit for.
  6. Interesting to see though would have benefited from some editing. Team sheets don't make great viewing once and three times is a bit OTT. Very quiet backstage. Hardly the crazy gang are they.
  7. I suspect most of the stadium feared we'd concede just before half time because that's what we've done so often in previous matches, as pointed out above. Maybe the players will concentrate a bit better in future and Pochettino won't have to repeat the b@llocking.
  8. Zola Budd, or Zola Thud as she became known. I don't remember her playing for England. Saw an interview with MS a while back when he was asked if he would play for England. He said simply, and trying not to sound haughty, "I am French". Think we can take that as a "non".
  9. Just lacks a little confidence in front of goal. Probably just needs one or two to go in any old way and he'll be back to shooting on impulse instead of delaying a fraction.
  10. He didn't play we'll but I don't agree that his legs are going and I think he's still quality. Yesterday we dominated midfield. Morgan and Cork are a tour de force. Liverpool's system didn't help. It seemed almost like they had just two in midfield at times and Joe Allen was poor and replaced at half time by Lucas, after which they looked stronger, and we brought on Davis to counter it.
  11. Good post this. I must admit I thought at first that Lambert would struggle with the high tempo but he fits in well or the system fits well with him and he remains integral to the team. I think he'll get his goal.
  12. Or tossing the caber.
  13. She is. She made her debut on MoTd tonight.
  14. He was just poor. Outshone by Clyne. Just as Cole was second best to Shaw, Chelsea away.
  15. Dropped off by his Mum...lol.
  16. Lucas was why Davis was brought on today in place of Ramirez.
  17. So where was he on MoTD? I was expecting him and Hansen to come and face the music but oh no. What do we get? The stiffs and a right pair of duffers they are.
  18. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/9933991/Liverpool-manager-Brendan-Rodgers-confident-ahead-of-Southampton-following-defeat-of-Tottenham-Hotspur.html Is there a touch of complacency, over confidence or even hubris in Roger's comments? He's talking about teams going to Anfield and big games. That was last week. He'd be better focusing on his so called struggling opponents tomorrow at St Mary's.
  19. No we weren't.
  20. For me the real issue here is that Nigel is free to work. That's great for him but should he end up at Reading, especially if he does so before we play them, that would be bad news for Saints. A quick look at the remaining fixtures shows, in my opinion, how important it will be for us to beat Reading. Whereas I'm reasonably confident of beating them right now, Adkins' appointment would change the dynamic completely. New manager syndrome, Adkins v Cortese, Adkins V Pochettino, player allegiances, big media spotlight for days ahead of the match. We could really do without this because there are some hard games in the run in.
  21. Why were you lot all on here last night being mean to Matthew when you could have been watching a Barcelona masterclass? Call yourselves football fans.
  22. Does this mean he's a free agent? Really hope he doesn't show up at Reading in time for our match.
  23. If they were going to get rid of him why do it part way through the season. It's the timing I don't understand.
  24. Matthew, Saints don't own all the land that's shown as redeveloped on the CGIs.
  25. These CGIs are not based on any plans. They are inconsistent one between the others, appear to use land that the club doesn't own and show representations of surrounding buildings that don't exist. They are the product of somebody's vivid imagination. Pure fantasy I'm afraid.
