He didn't play we'll but I don't agree that his legs are going and I think he's still quality. Yesterday we dominated midfield. Morgan and Cork are a tour de force. Liverpool's system didn't help. It seemed almost like they had just two in midfield at times and Joe Allen was poor and replaced at half time by Lucas, after which they looked stronger, and we brought on Davis to counter it.

Good post this. I must admit I thought at first that Lambert would struggle with the high tempo but he fits in well or the system fits well with him and he remains integral to the team. I think he'll get his goal.

Or tossing the caber.
-
She is. She made her debut on MoTd tonight.
-
He was just poor. Outshone by Clyne. Just as Cole was second best to Shaw, Chelsea away.
-
Dropped off by his Mum...lol.
-
Lucas was why Davis was brought on today in place of Ramirez.
-
So where was he on MoTD? I was expecting him and Hansen to come and face the music but oh no. What do we get? The stiffs and a right pair of duffers they are.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/9933991/Liverpool-manager-Brendan-Rodgers-confident-ahead-of-Southampton-following-defeat-of-Tottenham-Hotspur.html Is there a touch of complacency, over confidence or even hubris in Roger's comments? He's talking about teams going to Anfield and big games. That was last week. He'd be better focusing on his so called struggling opponents tomorrow at St Mary's.

For me the real issue here is that Nigel is free to work. That's great for him but should he end up at Reading, especially if he does so before we play them, that would be bad news for Saints. A quick look at the remaining fixtures shows, in my opinion, how important it will be for us to beat Reading. Whereas I'm reasonably confident of beating them right now, Adkins' appointment would change the dynamic completely. New manager syndrome, Adkins v Cortese, Adkins V Pochettino, player allegiances, big media spotlight for days ahead of the match. We could really do without this because there are some hard games in the run in.

Why were you lot all on here last night being mean to Matthew when you could have been watching a Barcelona masterclass? Call yourselves football fans.
-
Does this mean he's a free agent? Really hope he doesn't show up at Reading in time for our match.
-
If they were going to get rid of him why do it part way through the season. It's the timing I don't understand.
-
Matthew, Saints don't own all the land that's shown as redeveloped on the CGIs.
-
These CGIs are not based on any plans. They are inconsistent one between the others, appear to use land that the club doesn't own and show representations of surrounding buildings that don't exist. They are the product of somebody's vivid imagination. Pure fantasy I'm afraid.

Loyal servant, thoroughly decent bloke and all that but bit surprised about this one. Is he top six material?

The b@stard's done it again. He hates us.

Will Norwich sit back and hit long diagonals on the break or come at us? Newcastle and QPR succeeded with the former. I think Norwich with home advantage and off the back of a 4-0 loss at OT are more likely to do the latter, which should be better for our style of play. At SMS Norwich were solid and unspectacular. Can't recall whether they played out much from the back. Have the Canaries got any donkeys at the back who could be embarrassed by our pressing game?
-
Agree with this. Plus, it doesn't take a genius tactician to play long diagonals against us. It's not the long ball tactics that have done us but the failure to defend them adequately. I think this is what Poche was saying cryptically after Saturday when he referred to players being in the right places but failing to prevent the goals.

Hello Ladysaint, I'm looking for a ticket. I'll pm if you can confirm it's still available

Player suitability for Pochettino system

I suppose we ought to be pleased that we're not hate filled morons like the skates but the galling thing about yesterday is that we all, manager, players and fans, let Redknapp off the hook. He played the media perfectly leading up to the match and he got away with, yet again he got away with it, just like he always seems to get away with it whereas collectively we took our eye off the ball. It's unlikely he'll save them but if they go down fighting, Redknapp's reputation wont suffer and he'll remain at QPR or someone else will take him on. Their going down anyway isnt much consolation. The only satisfactory outcome from yesterday, on and off the pitch, would have been to have stuffed them. It was there for the taking and we fked it up. The opportunity for pay back has gone now but we can concentrate now on the far more important business of staying up.
-
Correct. It's an important part of how we play. A keeper with good distribution is like an extra outfield player. Reina does it very well for Liverpool.
-
I agree he's great when he's on form. JR played well. What's the captaincy got to do with anything I said? I'll say it again, think back to when he's been injured and how we struggled. We created very little today and that's why we didn't win.
