  1. If they get to 1 year left, you can end up with a De Gea situation. We got the money in, bought replacements and had a good season. If you're going to use what could have happened as the downside, you should use what could have happened as the upside as well. Any club can lose players if they're good and they want to leave (see De Gea) Look at what's happened to Villa and Sunderland this summer. Their fans would probably consider their club bigger than Saints. Our good academy and good recruitment recently is what's making us in particular a target.
  2. Actually, the upside was that we realistically challenged for the Champions League places and didn't lose players for free at the end of their contract.
  3. BBC Story has changed from 'bid' to 'interest' now. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33995543
  4. When have we done that?
  5. The silence isn't really surprising since until a couple of hours ago no one had a clue this was even a rumour. Considering we don't need the money, we don't want to sell, and he's got three years left on his contract, I can't see United making an offer good enough for him to leave this window.
  6. Watched for about 20 minutes or so and saw one really good meteor, and one satellite. Not bad considering there's a fair bit of hazy cloud about and a fair bit of light pollution
  7. Heh, it really is Health and Safety stopping them using the normal camera gantry
  8. So, does this mean Chelsea are our feeder club now?
  9. I don't know if I should be relieved we avoided the loss, happy with the point, or disappointed we didn't win after all that!
  10. Quick, post that again!
  11. Get innnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!
  12. Ashes regained
  13. It's possible West Ham could be seeded ahead of us, so yes, it's good for us if they go out.
  14. Every ball of the Aussie innings (and a description) fits into one tweet
  15. Am I really listening to this happening now?
  16. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33783861 Looks like they're trying to clear up what counts as interfering with play for the purposes of offside, and reduce a lot of the petulant stuff that goes on.
  17. Tips from last year's winner. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33713208 Of course, it doesn't mention the large slice of luck you need as well...
  18. Putting aside the rivalry for a moment, that is a fantastic tribute.
  19. If he signs! There's still the possibility that Celtic will keep hold of him for another season, or Chelsea could give up on Stones and go after him, or we could change targets, or something else entirely happens. I've never been ITK, and would probably keep any ITK stuff to myself if I did have any, so 'tis purely my opinion based on the reports that everyone else can see too.
  20. Personally, considering we've got Koeman, Europa League, and have had pretty good press the last few seasons, I'm not concerned in the slightest about Sunderland being (possibly) interested in VVD.
  21. If TS did say that Sunderland have put a bid in, it's gone completely unnoticed on the Sunderland forums.

  23. Looks like the final today will be shown on the BBC website. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33729919
  24. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33667103 Our season really does start today
  25. Fair to say this has been England's day!
