My immediate thought as well.

According to that article, it's an average of 24 hours a week. Despite being "contracted" to 37 hours a week, once they get beyond 6 hours in a day, they automatically qualify for time-and-a-half overtime. Where's the incentive to actually get the job done efficiently?

As I said, I've got no problem with the club wanting to check people who are trying to buy concession tickets, but I'm buying an adult ticket. Their system should easily be able to cope with checking whether the ticket being renewed is an adult one and if so, allow the user to select postal delivery. It doesn't need to be rocket science at all.
-
But that rather negates the whole point of doing it online, if you end up having to phone them up and wait on hold for 15 minutes anyway.

Not really got much of a problem with them asking for verification that someone qualifies for a concession ticket, I'd imagine most clubs do some sort of check on that, but I'm renewing an adult ticket - there should be no need to verify my age

Paid Subscriptions - double payments or other problems
stevegrant posted a topic in Site suggestions
If anyone has had any problems with their subscriptions being taken twice or any other subs-related problems, please email me at subscriptions@saintsweb.co.uk What has happened in the vast majority of cases is that a year ago (or more), a subscription was created with a recurring payment, and either the user has forgotten it was set up as a recurring payment or the automatic renewal failed the first time (card expired, etc), and as a result has then set up a second payment. Then, as the card details are all valid, the original subscription has automatically renewed. Within PayPal, you can check the recurring payments you have set up by going to Profile -> My Money -> My pre-approved Payments -
Nobody, it would seem...

Colville's such a cóck. Even if we had won solely because of the pitch and the quality of our spinners (as was arguably the case against Sussex), so what? What would he rather, every groundsman across the country prepared flat wickets that offer absolutely no help for the bowlers?
-
To access it, you need to go to the "My Account" section, and then on the left there's a "Renewals" option.

Is anyone else restricted to "collection at ticket office" for the delivery method?
-
Doubt it. With 9 potential Test grounds, I think it would make it LESS likely that we get an Ashes Test in 2013 because we'd have already had a game two years running. It'll go to Lord's.

Good to know there's a high level of literacy among our teachers

Even as someone who's very much on the anti-strike side, I'd be very wary of taking figures from Sky, who made absolutely no secret of their support for the Conservatives during the election.

Yep. It's all stuff that's been on this thread already in the last 6-9 months or so. Surprising that the Eye is so far behind on that one, to be honest.

How is that any different to the private sector? If the unions don't have all the information required in which to make an informed decision, why were they allowed to ballot for strike action?

Annoyingly, they appear to have shifted the fixtures back a week, so no games that weekend. Bayern Munich are at home on the Tuesday night, playing Hamburg in a friendly. We stupidly booked our flights for that night
-
To be fair, the flights out had already been booked based on Biel's announcement a couple of weeks ago, so it was just a case of finding the best option for travelling back. Unfortunately, flights out of Switzerland are horrendously expensive, especially at weekends, so Munich was the next best option. I was looking at flying back from Dusseldorf as Fortuna Dusseldorf are at home on the Sunday, but the train connection was about £150 and would have involved getting up at about 4am to make the 1.30pm kickoff German third division fixtures are out today, so I'm hoping that Unterhaching (small suburb of Munich) are at home on the opening day of the season.

No idea how many we'd sell, but I think in previous years we've had as many as 10k. That would clearly be very optimistic for a scheme that hasn't existed for a few years, but shows the potential.
-
Can't see them being based in Interlaken again, simply because the two games are both miles away from there. I'm flying into Zurich on the morning of the Biel game, and then back from Munich on the Tuesday after.

It may well be "cheap" compared to the likes of Arsenal, Man United, Chelsea and Spurs, but does it provide value for money? I'd say it doesn't even come close, especially when a season ticket generally gives you a decent discount on the matchday price.
-
Depends exactly how much of a hassle and cost it actually is, I guess. Initially the only admin is data entry and a single payment procession. Then they would have an extra sales period for individual match tickets, but that's just setting a series of dates and deadlines, surely no big deal? The only situation I can think of where it becomes a pain is for a cup final where the allocation is smaller than the combined total of ST holders and members - what's the likelihood of that situation arising in the short to medium-term? Slim, I'd bet. The previous two Pompey away games have gone to general sale as the ballot was undersubscribed.
-
While £14 is clearly ridiculous, and Torquay have had a big say in it, I'll nominate Burton Albion for "wild optimist of the competition" as they insisted tickets for their game at Burnley were set at £15
-
It's an odd situation not having a membership scheme when there are clearly many fans who can't get a season ticket for whatever reason who would probably be willing to pay up to £25 just for the "privilege" of having a Saints-branded card with their name and customer number on it and getting second dibs on away tickets. It's basically free money for the club.
-
£14? Think I'll pass on that one...

I don't think any one of us would have done anything different. If your company CEO told you that the manager of the company's main department was about to be fired and asked if you'd be interested in replacing him, as it was a step up from your current role, would you really say "no thanks"? I certainly wouldn't.
