  1. Picking draws in accumulators is always a bad idea. I've gone for: Arsenal v Wolves Doncaster v Plymouth Peterborough v Newcastle Preston v Watford Bournemouth v Bradford Notts County v Bury Rotherham v Port Vale Also gone for separate singles of a Swindon win at Leeds, Man United to draw with Chelsea and Stevenage to draw with Luton.
  2. And you accuse him of stalking you...
  3. Our form since the first 10 games of the season has been automatic promotion form. We've picked up, on average, just over 1.9 points per game in the last 28 league games. Taking that average over the current 38 games played, and removing the 10-point deduction, that would put us in second place, three points ahead of Leeds and Millwall with a much easier run-in. We're really not doing that badly. It's very rare that a team keeps up the same intensity and consistency through the whole 46-game season, players don't stay fit or available for the whole season so there's a certain degree of chopping and changing required anyway, but with the cup runs it's appeared as though we've had to change much more regularly because of cup-tied players etc. Maintain this form to the end of the season and into next season and we'll go up, simple as that.
  4. I've just downloaded the Blackberry Desktop Manager, just running an upgrade now, so should be up to 4.5. No idea why the OTA download hadn't done the OS upgrade sooner...
  5. Actually, the burden of proof is on the accuser in this country. So you wouldn't mind Nick being quoted as long as he has the same opinion as you? Sadly (actually, no, fortunately), that's not how it works. Believe it or not, people do have different opinions to you, occasionally. "Southampton FC Supporters Society Limited" is what you're looking for. As an industrial and provident society, the registered company name cannot include the word "Trust". As such, I think the bank account is/was in the name of "Southampton FC Supporters Society Limited t/a The Saints Trust".
  6.   Oh, sorry, you were being serious?!
  7. Yes, usually in the middle of a ****ing call! I'll do a manual upgrade later today.
  8. Excellent
  9. Can't say I have. Wouldn't overly surprise me considering Pompey are also going to be using the venue next week.
  10. The whole situation is bizarre. I've not really got too much of an issue with them deflecting the blame onto Silverspoons themselves (they were clearly woefully understaffed and understocked), but to suggest it's the fans' fault really isn't going to help their cause I'm led to believe (not from Nick, by the way) that they genuinely were acting as agents for the event and that they only received a small percentage of the ticket money. If that is the case then I think the main question mark for me is their pretty poor business skills - as promoters and ticket agents, I'd have expected them to take the bulk of the money with the venue making their money over the bar. As an aside, from what I've heard, the venue owners aren't the sort of people to get involved with. A very harsh lesson for all concerned, IMO.
  11. I'd be very careful what you're alleging there if I were you.
  12. Sorry, but that's absolute ********. Are you saying all those fans who were interviewed before and after the game on Sunday claim to be the voice of the fans as well? Including the 6-year-olds? Nick is the person the media usually turn to for quotes and opinions because a) his job allows him to be available at short notice which makes it convenient for the journalist(s) running the story, b) he has a "title" (i.e. his involvement with the trust, regardless of what any of us think of that particular organisation) which lends credibility to any quote, and c) he's proven over a number of years to be reliable. It's not because the media necessarily think that Nick is particularly well-spoken or representative that they go to him every time, it's because they run to tight schedules and know that he's always available. If anyone else wants to get their mug on SSN, put in the groundwork, prove you're reliable, get yourself in a position where there is a certain degree of trust from the fanbase (and despite the various protestations on here, there are a lot of people who know and respect Nick and his views), and I'm sure Sky et al will be falling at your feet. Until someone else does that, they're always going to go to Nick for Saints opinions.
  13. I got all of them apart from Tessem. Scott McDonald was ****ing ****e, from what I remember.
  14. That was kinda my point...
  15. I think it's fairly safe to ignore the Trust website, particularly given that it was hacked months ago and they've not bothered to remove the dodgy content. I'm assuming that the outside bloke who took over the development of the site from me shortly before I left hasn't bothered to actually do any of the work he was supposed to do on it, hence why it's remained completely unchanged since then with the exception of one of the old board members writing a few articles. None of the actual data has been updated at all.
  16. You know where the door is...
  17. Alternatively, I've just found a way that means a) I don't have to find anyone else, and b) I can fit more 90-minute slots in for those who originally requested them. The home squad will now comprise of 15 players, not the original 16 bpsaint will now play 90 minutes at CB B Rabbit will move to LM RedAndWhite91 will now play 90 minutes at ST magnet's position will change to ST (first half) See the OP for the full revised squad listings.
  18. Not 100% sure of the compatibility on each phone types apart from Blackberry (as I have one). There is a version of the app that works with OS version 4.5 and 4.6 (8820 and 8320 models), and a version for OS 4.7+ (8900, 9000, Bold, Storm). Annoyingly, my 8320 has what appears to be a bloody ancient version of the OS (4.2!), so I'm going to have to upgrade that before it'll work.
  19. OK, I've had a look at the home team's lineup and taken into account various messages I've received from other players on that team and there are now three options to fill the last slot: Option 1 The original option of someone coming in to left midfield for the 90 minutes Option 2 I can switch B Rabbit to left midfield, which then leaves a striker position for 90 minutes available Option 3 bpsaint switches to 90 minutes at centre-back, B Rabbit moves to left midfield, magnet's 45 minutes is now as a striker, leaving a striker position for 45 minutes. Any takers from forum members only? At this stage, I'm not going to throw it open to friends who aren't registered on here.
  20. The revised timetable for next week is relatively unhelpful but could have been worse, I guess. 7.05 train in the morning instead of 7.00, with a couple of extra stops, but then the last train out of Waterloo is 5.32, and it'll be absolutely rammed. Just as well the schools are off, so quite a lot of people will have taken time off next week anyway.
  21. The latest SaintsWeb podcast is now available for download. The historic day at Wembley dominates the discussion, while we also preview the forthcoming Easter fixtures. Get it via iTunes or RSS from http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/podcasts/podcast.xml
  22. Looks like Unite aren't the only union who can't operate a ballot correctly, according to the Independent: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/network-rail-in-legal-bid-to-avert-strike-action-1932047.html As a daily train user, I'll be more than a bit ****ed off if I can't get to and from work next week
  23. The second points deduction is for failing to agree a CVA. 15 points for Leeds as it was their first time, 17 for Bournemouth and Rotherham as it was their second and 20 for Luton as it was their third.
  24. Too many stops if you're going to do pickups all the way along the route. One of the many things I learned from running coaches in the past is that you need to keep the number of stops to a minimum, people get fed up with it, particularly on the way home.
